Josh Heupel UTSA post game

This team started strong but seems to lose focus easily. Gotta play 60 minutes to win big games

I say we just lock all the doors to the lockeroom and have a good ole fashioned fight club because they seem like a bunch of pussies besides Beasely, Bru Mccoy. Jalen Wright and Dylan Sampson.

Those guys play with heart and passion for a full 60 minutes.

Everyone else including Milton does not. Unfortunately this team doesn't have enough fire in their bellies. Make them fight in a good respectable way but also harsh. They need to get tougher mentally.

you guys MUST UNDERSTAND last year that Darnell Wright (1st round draft pick) took COMPLETE care of the right side of the line which allowed the other 4 to block 3 which gave Hooker ALOT of time. Then you have Hyatt on the outside running a 4.2 or 3 and they had to put a Safety over the top so now most of the season we had the advantage on offense. SCHEME WISE !!J
🤫
We like b!t€hing and complaining, while trying to figure out what is going on, ususally leaning toward some sort of wild, outlandish conspiracy and clamoring for the backup QB.
We don’t need you messing up our rhythm with your pesky common sense.

Nico came in with a backup o-line and most of the WR starters out. Not a good way to read his readiness.
Agree not a true read for Nico when he is in there with back ups. I am just glad he got a few possessions to get him more in game ready for future chances.

He looked pretty comfortable to me. SMH I agree I would like to see more improvement on the back end of our D. But, the D line is getting after the QB.

Yeah, when Beasley got hurt I was thinking without him we lose about 30% of our defense. I hope he stays healthy.

He knows he's between a rock and a hard place with the QB and Defense situation.

Id be nervous too.

Our only bright spot honestly is Sampson.
That's my thought, too. He's in autopilot mode with his comments especially in regard to Milton. He's going out of his way to boost his image and confidence in the eyes of fans, the team and especially in Joe's own mind. Last thing he can afford is for Milton to play with doubt and starting to press. If Nico really isn't ready, and I suspect he isn't, if Milton checks out mentally, this year can very easily go off the rails and we end up with a losing season. That would be a real blow to Heupel and this program after last season. Would be a helluva wet blanket to recruiting, too.

Florida looked bad, gas offense looks not great, lsu barely beat arky at home who lost to byu last week, Bama looks lost on offense, ole miss looks like ole miss (can beat anyone not good). I didn't address other teams bc you wanted to keep it ranked. But no one looks dominant. No one looks good. Too bad we couldn't have had last year this year.

Suck it boss. We fit in there with all those teams.
I mean, looking at the body of work so far in 2023, I have to agree with this. I am not seeing anyone really dominant this year. QB play is really mediocre across the SEC right now.

Not one team completely stands out right now. GA may win it all in the SEC, but evidence to date tells me this is someone else’s year and not the SEC.

Heck, this could be the PAC-XX swan song.

I think this is exactly the case. Good post!

So 8 tPac12 eams in top 25 is good, but 6 SEC is weak?

Currently Champion is a back to back Champion, is from SEC and .... won the Championship by a mere 58 points.

I don't know what else you could ask for. I suppose could ask that SEC have 8 in the top 25, plus UGA's record but if that's the line between weak, you might have the most negative outlook there because I believe you stand alone on saying the SEC is weak in any capacity. I'm trying to wrap my head around why you would think that way and I can't come up with a reason.

I think the SEC is in a sweet spot right now and that if the SEC would be accepting an additional team, there would be at least 50 schools that would jump at the chance play in our conference this year or next year or last year or in 2025 because week to week the SEC is playing a top 25 team AND we have a current back to back national champion in our midst AND is the pre-season favorite to win a 3rd

My point isn’t about the number of teams in the Top 25. That is to illustrate that I don’t think the number of teams in the T25 is a determinant of strength. Most of the PAC-12 sucks.

I’m basing my opinion off the fact that I’ve watched the SEC for 4 weeks and none of the teams outside of Georgia look that great, especially compared to recent years.

The offensive game plan for most of the first half to me should be our game plan all year. Quick throws, runs....then every once in a while a deep ball.

Seems like we started trying to hit the deep ball too often in the second half. Joe had a lot of confidence until the last plays of the first half and then it seemed like we were off a little.

Heup looked somewhat relieved and happy to me during his pressor. The kids showed up to play and he probably feels like he and the other coaches fixed a few things over the past week.

But as we know all too well, there is tons of pressure to consistently perform each week and you can go from a hero to zero just like that!

Okay, now that I understand. I'm not going to deny they the SEC looks less impressive than it did last year and I wonder if my perception is off because I don't remember how impressive the SEC looked last year at this time. What I DO remember is that 2/3rds to 3/4ths into the season last year, the SEC had several teams playing at a very high level. So maybe for me and perhaps you, I ask myself if I'm comparing 3/4th through the season LAST year and comparing it to right now?

One thing we both remember, AND most people do because watched #1 Tennessee play #3 UGA. (on 11/11 or about that time of year). THAT'S impressive for any conference to have TWO teams in the top 3 haha. Right? That's just???? IDK.... and undeniable good thing going on IN the SEC and the entire nation was interested in that game because sooo many (too many?) games are very lop-sided. If that's my dominant memory from last season and that's used to compare last year to this year = it makes sense to believe this year, the SEC doesn't seem as good.
