Lets face it, UT has owned the Memphis matchup for about 10 years now. Memphis as a city and Memphis fans in general are just mad that they are the ugly stepchildren that the state of TN wishes it didn't have to claim. Now go crawl back to your "urban" ****hole of a town and root for your grade A thugs you call players and your head coach who looks like Screech from Saved by the Bell.
Memphis is a pure hate thing for me. I wouldnt do them the honor of calling them a rival; they have nothing that we need. Sure, Id hate to see the Cards lose to them. I really hated seeing us lose to Western Carolina, but that doesnt make them a top rival! Memphis fans may consider Louisville their biggest rivals, but thats because they have to respect us. I dont respect Memphis and I dont consider them our rivals.
West Virginia?
Marquette?
There are only 2, possibly 3, teams on that list that Louisville will be playing yearly after 2013 and it ain't Marquette and West Virginny. Hell, they don't even play WV THIS season.
Didn't you just concede that they weren't? Which side of the fence are you taking here, Ball?
I'm not taking any side. Just stating the facts.
That ranking was based on a Louisville fan poll taken.
If you want to guess as to who the biggest rivals will be going forward, then I guess it wouldn't be unrealistic to think Memphis would be no better than 3rd. Surely Louisville will develop a rivalry with one of the teams in their new conference.
Who took this poll, you?
What's wrong with being the third biggest rival?
Is UT better than 3rd on anyone's rival lists?
In fact, Sporting News ranked the top basketball rivalries:
1. Duke-North Carolina
2. Kentucky-Louisville
3. Kansas-Texas
4. Syracuse-Villanova
5. Syracuse-Georgetown
6. Pitt-Villanova
7. Kansas-Missouri
8. Indiana-Purdue
9. Kentucky-Tennessee
10. BYU-San Diego State
Congrats on being Vandy's top rival. I'm sure they're chomping at the bit for UT to form a Chess Team.
