Lol, I understand why I'm being come down on. But, there is something about Richardsons attitude I don't like. It's okay to be upset and emotional, but his reactions remind me of the way my 3 year old acts. All I'm saying
I really like him, he has the intangibles to be great. If Josh can put in the work to improve his offense in the summer then he will be huge for us next year. I also think he is better offensively than most think, but he is a little tenative sometimes and never forces a shot that isn't relatively wide open. Kid will be a stud...believe it
Great! Are you kidding me? He wasn't recruited by Missouri State for nothing. He's not D-1 talent at all. Richardson is a decent defender & does give some hustle but he will never be GREAT! I would even say he'll never be GOOD!
He will strictly be a role player for whoever he plays for in college. He's only here at UT because CCM brought him here with him. He's not SEC type talent but you could say that for others as well.

Richardson is not SEC material. He does hustle and he plays some solid defense, but his offensive skills are where he lacks. He should never be allowed to shoot the ball unless he is wide open and within five feet of the basket. At least he doesn't constantly shoot and miss three's like Tatum.
Jeremy Lamb, Kenny Boyton, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist would disagree.
I wasn't talking about the bluechip recruits that sign in the SEC. I'm talking about some other role players that are strictly that!
Richardson was a 3-star recruit & wasn't really D-1 talent. He was a mid-major type talent though! He would not be here if not for CCM. That's the facts! He's limited in his ability!
There's a reason he wasn't recruited by any of the major D-1 schools. Skylar was a walk-on but he's playing better than Richardson right now & has been the past few games. His increase in minutes has shown what he's doing as well!

1) He helped shut those three guys down, all blue chips. I think they would say he's not a scrub.
2) Skylar is not playing better than Josh right now. Josh has started for a month, while Skylar just got his first one, and it wasn't to replace Josh.
3) Josh is limited offensively, but he has decent handle, a nice pull up J, and an okay passer. He's getting there.
4) Josh is an SEC player. He's already one of the better defenders in the league. He did get BCS offers unlike you said. Is he Chris Lofton? No, but he's going to be a good player here.

you do realize that mid-major is d1 right?
he wasnt recruited by major d1 schools? georgia tech, penn state, oklahome???
since when are they not major d 1 schools?
the fact he made the statement "he wasnt d1 talent he was mid-major talent" should tell you all you need to know about this guys knowledge of the sport
I disagree with ya! McBee is playing better than Richardson. How can you not see that?
Sorry, I meant to say he wasn't going to sign with a MAJOR D-1 school instead of not being recruited by D-1 schools. He was going to Missouri State.
He came here when CCM was hired! It's a fact! I don't dislike Richardson but people on here are making false claims about his talent. McBee has outplayed him in the past few games. The writing is on the wall guys!
I'm not gonna get on here & give into your childish comments! I stand by my statements! I played college basketball years ago at Walters State Community College so I do know basketball.
I also coach a 5th grade traveling team in East Tennessee! I'm still not here to argue about knowledge of the game. I'm here to defend the inaccurate statements about Richardson & McBee.

i was waiting for i also play ncaa basketball on my xbox every day so boo ya!
if your so knowledgable id expect you to realize that mid major is still d1. also i would think you would understand why richardson was going to msu, and that he could have signed with a big d1 program if he wanted to.
mcbee had offers from santa clara, richardson had offers from acc schools. come on kid.
Richardson has not shown to be a capable scorer so far in his brief UT career. His skills on offense appear to be very limited. He does hustle on defense, but at this point in the season we need players that can score at least a few points a game, not turn the ball over a lot, and play hard nose defense. He is a liability for the Vols as all he can do is defend some. He shouldn't be starting for the Vols or getting so many minutes.
