I think this kid is an amazing talent. However he is a complete punk. I know I'm not going to say I never wanted and we're better without him but who knows, he may be too much of an attitude problem for wherever he goes though. haha. who knows. I just wish he could be a great talent good attitude at our school.

This does seem like a set-back, but it seems like we are in the mix with tons of other plaers for 2010 so we shouldn't be too gloom and doom yet.

You cannot lose a player of selby's status and be happy no matter what happens....some have called him the best pg in the 2010 class

knight is. And I'm not just going by rivals. I think Jackson may be just as good. I saw him play and he's the best player I've ever seen.

If this is any consolation, his cousins Will and Antonio Barton have verbally commited to the Tigers! It looks like Josh may be a Tiger as well! At least if this is true, we can keep him in the state! :dance2:

A top prospect in the 2010 class Josh Selby decommits from Tenessee. Now from reading all the boards about this Selby did it because he wants to go to a school where Nike sponsors them. Memphis and kentucky are supposedly in the lead for him but with Selby and the Bartons both from Baltimore and I think from the boards they have a connection Memphis is probably in the lead to get him

This whole situation is further evidence that the NBA needs to reinstate the rule allowing players to go straight to the NBA out of high school. Selby obviously has no interest in going to college and is just using his mandatory year in college to help himself land a huge contract with Nike when he goes pro.

I still don't understand why we are with addidas. Addidas is a soccer company. We need to go to nike. They have huge football camps and basketball camps. Addidas does not

+1. Plus I think they would show the staff/AD some minor tweaks to the uniforms that actually look good. Adidas just blows in that dept., IMHO. Somebody said our contract is about to expire, and I hope we let it.

What is annoying is that this is what Nike wants to happen. They want to use the prospects of these contracts to steer kids to the schools (or their camps to steer the kids to the schools) that use their gear...and thus the product sales. I would hate to let them win at that game...but I guess it's just business.

I think I'm so turned off my it because I still have the ridiculous notion in my head that college sports are amateur sports.

I dont know why we ever got with adidas. I dont know any young athletes that wear adidas on their own. Any bball court anywhere is Nike and Jordan. I bet this affiliation hurts UT with alot of bball recruits. This hurts us bad but the kids wanting to be on Nike is not surprising.
