Hate to be the guy with bad news, but skeeter (guy that works in the AD if I'm not mistaken) posted this today on the ESPN boards. If true, doesn't sound good :no:

"geez, now hearing selby is backing out again. we backed off abraham earlier because we only had 1 ship left, basically pushed him to georgetown so we could take selby.

the coaches arent very happy right now, they dont feel like selby is going to uk, but feel like cal and company done some serious negative recruiting against us."

"selby to kansas is the word here. if true, he needs to grow a set and stop misleading people. we basically wasted a ship because of his word."

TIFWIW but the guy simply just tells what he hears, and his track record has been on the money. If it's true lets just hope between now and saturday that Selby jumps back on board.

Skeeter's comment about Selby recommitting to Tennessee isn't true so I wouldn't hold a lot of stock in what he is saying. However, it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if he ended up at Kansas.

Edit: Wrote that wrong, too much multitasking today.

What are you hearing IA Vol?

I don't see how negative recruiting from Kentucky can get in these kids heads. If I was 8 and I wanted to go to Tennessee I would EXPECT Tennessee's biggest rivals to try and talk me out of it. At 18....

I also would love it if someone would explain the appeal of Kansas to a one and done prospect for next year. They are losing a TON of players, there only one and done player was X and he was less than spectacular, they just flamed out in the tourney, and they are located in KANSAS! I know Tennessee has their flaws and have lost plenty of talent, but I like our chances next season a lot better next year with Selby than I would like Kansas with Selby.

From what I know (and take this for what it's worth) no one from UT is going to know until he decides on Saturday which is pretty amazing actually. You might look at that negatively in that maybe Kansas already knows he's coming but JS doesn't want to show his hand? Or maybe he simply doesn't know yet? (both pure speculation)

At this point no one appears to be confident he will attend UT next year but KU might be feeling the same way as they've played this very close to the vest for months now.

The thing is, they've made deep runs before. The most talented team we had got destroyed in the Sweet 16. I'm not saying UT is bad, but one tournament flame out doesn't change the fact that Self is really good.

Thanks for the info. I really hope we get him, but I am impressed that Bruce could even come this close with how crazy his recruitment has been.

What I find ironic is that is mother wants him to go to a school 100's of miles further away.

Self has had his share of early flame outs. See Bucknell a few years ago. My only point was that they do not look like they will be a top ten team next season with or without Selby. Just my two cents.

I know I find this odd also.. I refuse to believe any rumors or any narrowing of lists or anything until Saturday until he says it on national tv and signs. I want this to end.
