Feeling stupid...
I don't really understand the context of the comment.
Pride will not be a factor with our program if Selby recommits. Pearl thinks that young men need to take time and make the right decision. He said that he doesn't like that a recruit decommits, but he will accept their commitment if such recruit decides to recommit if he feels they can help the program.
Basically he will accept Selby's recommitment if it happens.
It's basically like saying....if you're ugly as crap....and you have Jessica Alba as your girlfriend...and she decides to leave you and goes around to about 70 other guys and makes you look like just another guy....but then decides to come back....you don't ask questions. You take her back.
(Though I would like to say, we're not ugly as crap, we would be fine without him....but he would definitely help our program, and would be a great point guard for us)
Skeeter's comment about Selby recommitting to Tennessee isn't true so I wouldn't hold a lot of stock in what he is saying. However, it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if he ended up at Kansas.
Edit: Wrote that wrong, too much multitasking today.
Whichever you were referring to, big man.
As uncommon as it is, I completely agree.haha....I personally wouldn't take Alba back if she has been with 70 other dudes and then decided to come back to me. I'm not that desperate.
Yeah, you take a guy that can help your team at any point if he wants to come. Especially a guy of Selby's caliber. I'm surprised that question was even posed to CBP. I would look straight at the dude and say "Duh..."With Selby, well I agree with Bruce about letting the recruit make the right decision and technically he hasn't been with anyone else but us. Also, I agree that since Selby would be a huge impact for next season then there is no question on whether you take him.
Selby's decommitment wasn't as big of a sting to the program when it happened. You can't put it on the kid. Now, I think that Pearl has something up his sleeve. He wasn't showing it in his interview today, but his calmness and respect for the kids is something that I respect in the man.
