Yea, I remember the 14-17 days. I also remember the 20 wins seasons under Jerry Green too. Why is he not still here?

I think some people have the wrong impression about UT's basketball history. We're not a top bball program, but we have had some success in the past. Outside of the 48 hour #1 ranking, Pearl has done nothing that we haven't seen before.

Also, for everyone who calls people out on this board for being bandwagon fans. I don't think there is any better example of a bandwagon fan than the people who say Pearl "turned tn bball around".

I would love Selby at UT - probably not going to happen - I think he is a UK signee- but
who will he pass to at UK - Not Patterson - gone to the pros - not Cousins -gone to the pros - not MR. Wall - gone to the pros - UK should come back to the pack next year - but as of right now UK has Harrellson and Orton with a chance for CJ Leslie - but a general has to have solders and I don't see UK being that good next yr.
and as far as developing players - BS - Coach Pearl is landing better players - give him some more time - I still blame R. Smith and Duke Crews for some of our downfall - if being in the top 20 is a downfall.- Coach Pearl is going to be successful at UT - BOOK - IT - And Selby is crazy for not being a part of it. He would be a perfect fit.

this is proof that we have a lot to do about what recruits think of a school. we need to keep the sh- talking to a minimum and try to give some love out to get them to come here. to josh and his mom tennessee is a great place and we love our players like family.

There are 3 guys left in the top 20 - he might get Leslie ? - Selby is hugh for them - a must get - Leslie is hugh - a must get - from what I have heard they have backed off of Lamb? don't know why? I would think any player from Oak Hill would be a shoe in just to establish the ties. - So a class of Poole and Leslie is not really reloading - you throw in MR.Selby then yes

My apologies for making the Pearl lovers angry. :rolleyes: but I was just pointing out the fact that this isn't just discussed on the message boards. People actually believe this because they have nothing else to believe. Tyler should be a 20-10 guy every night and his numbers have decreased since his SO. year. Wayne, your starting center, jacking up 3's really makes people question what he's doing and why he's doing it (again falling on Bruce). Scotty and JP were both ranked pretty darn high coming out of HS and haven't really showed why they were hyped consistantly enough. Factor in Wingate, Crews, and Ramar getting booted off the team and the fact that your more talented players have been catagorized in the "bust catagory" by elite player standards and that's what you get. Maybe Bruce tried every way in the world not to get those kids to smoke pot and maybe it's not his fault that they were overrated in HS but he did recruit them and the kdis smoking pot were on his team. So......don't you think the "not developing players, questioning the coach" half is a bit more full than the other? I believe so and it will continue to be until he shows us otherwise.

UT could also be known as thug U. With the headbands and tats - and I love the raising of the chin to the skys after a average play and yelling like a baffoon - really classy - I can imagine what the refs are thinking and how it might effect some calls. I will be glad when this group washes thru.and as far as hopson being over-rated - he is from kentucky (no offense intended to Mr. Lofton every once in awhile they kick out a great one)- UK doesn't even recruit kentucky players-they didn't want Mr. Lofton - so-just like in football you should stay away from the commonwealth players. In defense of Pearl, who would come to UT when he first arrived - being from a small conference and unknown - he was probably glad to get what he got. But now - the landscape has begun to change - he has gotten 4 great recruits. 3 for 2010 and 1 for 11.

What exactly made you say that? She seems to be smart enough to help him weigh their options. She certainly didn't sound stupid. Perhaps her choice of language led you to this conclusion?

God watching him play makes me sick. Just think of him and Harris together out there. Even Pearl, who I am not exactly impressed with on the court, could do special things with those two, Hopson, Tatum, and Hall.

Green was winning with Kevin O'Neals players thats why....Thats common knowledge....And as far as going and calling someone a bandwagon fan you should at least have a clue what you are talking about which clearly you do not.
