JP Prince cannot shoot

So you're ok with giving up 4 inches on the court because you want to split the job of PG?

I'd rather have a 2nd pg that can handle the ball and not turn it over than jp in doing something he ought not do. if jp was a little smarter with the ball he'd be one of our best players

If JP doesn't get that block, we may have lost in OT.

Yeah but he missed free throws in the end of the game that would've put it away. does anyone know why b maze wasn't in toward the end of the game?

Cause he forgot how to play defense. Well, he never really played defense. Perhaps it was more like he woke up from the dream he was in...you know, the one where he could play defense.

yeah that's true. i just still think he should've played in the end. the way he's been playing offensively these past few games, he's unstoppable

He's a good on-ball defender, good rebounder (when he realizes not to snowbird), and is a good passer. He's unselfish...showboat? Hell yes. Selfish? I don't think so, at least not this year.

No, he can't pass. He makes stupid decisions when he has the ball. I agree with everything else you say, but that...no.

You do realize he's made some critical free throws when needed. He's normally got 2-4 steals a game.... very good at taking charges. Of course he needs to work on his outside shot.... and interior passing skills, but the players compliment each other. I definitely think we need him right now.

I totaly agree with this^. He's been the spark for this when we needed it.

Because the coach wants Him to start.

1st of all that was a dumb post. but i feel like he's really really close to being that great player we see every once in a while. hitting a couple more free throws, making smarter plays with the ball, would make him a great player with his good defense. i still just get nervous when he gets the ball though

I feel like J.P's Basketball IQ is very good and thats what he has going for him. That is why he seems to be in the right spots at the right time as far as charges and steals. On the other hand his knowledge of the game is way beyond his actual skills and talent level. He may see the floor but can't make a good pass. He is very good at getting away from defenders but I close my eyes when he shoots a jumpshot. Not to mention I will agree that he can be very selfish.

He has good court vision and is very long, IMO that’s where you get most assists from. He is not a bad passer either, bad passers don’t end up with 8 assists.

disagree. he's a good passer. he usually averages about 3-4, that's good for a wing, especially in an anemic offense like ours.

Having said that, he makes stupid decisions. I never said he didn't.

he was 2 rebounds and 2 assists from a triple double against ole miss yesterday. there is more to basketball than just shooting. give the guy a break. i think he's pretty imortant to our team.

That foul on the made 3 point shot was idiotic. I have never seen a player do that more than PJ.

I'm not sure it's a positive when you have to list "good at taking charges" as a player's strength.

exactly. Thats what threw a red flag up for me when Buzz Peterson was talking about justin Albrecht on signing day and only thing he said about his play of note other han being a good kid was he took like 43 charges in high school career. I then knew he was going to be the typical white stiff.

Did we need a thread to point this out? No kidding JP can't shoot the basketball. From outside of the block anyways.

With that said, JP plays some of the best defense on the team (please go back and remind me who made some of the biggest defensive plays against Kansas).

He also manages to drive the basketball. I like him best in a 2-3 zone when he flashes hi-post.

JP is a smart basketball player, but I really truly believe that I can shoot a basketball better than he can. I was stunned when Wayne passed the ball to him at the end of the game knowing he would get fouled.

Whoever said JP can shoot free throws... yikes...

Yeah, he's pretty bad at shooting outside, but he can rip a zone apart with the best of them! Love to see him slash to the goal! But I too don't like seeing him in the game at the end, playing offense, cause you know that as soon as he gets the ball the other team is going to foul him and put him on the line. Still I'd start him. Pearl is doing a terrific job IMHO! Glad we got him! Best coach we've had since DeVoe.

ABSOLUTE FAIL for the OP. sure JP isnt the greatest jump shooter but he is so valuable to our team. Wouldn't have beat kansas or memphis without him. I used to be the biggest JP hater but he has absolutely stepped up this year
