'19 JUCO CB Elijah Blades (A&M commit) Now in portal

I see Beasley getting a look there. Crouch will definitely get a look. But there’s 2 things about rb recruiting this year. 1) it’s not a huge need for us this cycle and 2) it’s a very down year for running backs and next year is much better.
Exactly!

I disagree about it not being a huge need.

Need a stable of big time backs.

At least one to replace London. I’ve learned to ignore Orange and White game heros.

And in topic, Blades comes in a JR, right? I wasn’t thinking that both Taylor and Thompson could (and maybe Flowers) could all get redshirted this year. Or could have firmly established their starting positions. But just like RB, don’t want to fall behind one cycle because we got a JUCO rather than a FR.

But I also don’t want two starting redshirt Frosh’s out there getting burned like marshmallows at Girl Scout camp.

If not a huge need, it is a big one.

Need a stable of big time backs.

Ty Chandler Sophomore
Trey Jordan Sophomore
Tim Coleman Sophomore
Princeton Fant R-Sophomore
Jeremy Banks Freshman

Carlin Fils-Aime could be moved back.
Malik Gray could be moved in a panic.

Chandler and banks are the only two I see in that group that are SEC level backs. We need to start loading up again.

Bingo.

And we don’t *know* what Banks is yet. The bottom line is this team needs more good players at every position.

Bringing in one or 2 big time backs for the ‘20 class makes more sense anyway. Chandler will be a junior in ‘19, Banks will be a sophomore, Beasley a freshman, so the opportunity for playing for someone like Kristian Story or another blue chip guy in the 2020 class would be very appealing. Looks like there’s really only one 5 start running back in 2019, so to echo NRP, not a very “talented” class at running back.

So, then our DB class is already committed?

Blades
Burrell
Hill
Harris
Fields

Definitely no Bush or Huff? Seems like we really do need 6 this class. Warrior, Abernathy, TKJr are all leaving after this year at S. Henderson will be done after this season and has been a non-contributor, but is still a body. Seems like we need to take as many as we like and will come.

Does Blades make it through admissions is the big question. LSU and UF didn't push because of it. Legit first round skill set. Ducks mod put in his CB after speaking with him recently. Seems pretty confident Ore is the pick.

They’ve been pushing for it and he hasn’t yet

I’ve never known LSU to be discrinating when it comes to athletes. Just real people students.

Yeah I thought something similar when Mark Wheeler posted it a few months back. I know a few Fl kids they got in who were likely juco bound before LSU took them.

I think Chandler, Banks, and Jordan are SEC Level RB’s. Also the VQ guys have mentioned Fant as being a name to look out for. Says he has really stepped up his game.
