TOP JUCO CORNERBACK NEARING DECISION

The Vols have continued to battle for four-star cornerback Keionte Scott of Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 1 junior-college cornerback in the 247Sports Composite for the 2022 class. Tennessee traveled to Utah to see Scott last week in addition to visiting with his mother in Las Vegas, and the Vols appear to have emerged as Auburn’s main competition for him down the stretch despite his official visit to BYU over the weekend.

But sources close to the 6-foot, 185-pound Scott’s recruitment still view Auburn as the team to beat as he prepares to reveal his decision on Wednesday. Tennessee hosted him on an official visit last month that allowed him to attend the Vols’ game against Georgia. But all signs have pointed to the Tigers being in the driver’s seat in recent weeks, and that still appears to be the case leading up to his announcement.
