armchair,
the only thing left for Martin when he got there were projects in terms of bigs.

He didnt do a bad job.

Now we can practice with bigs on both teams.

If Yemi's presence in practice can help Hall learn to be aggressive defensively without fouling he will have done the team a HUGE service.

Been watching Miller play out here in Midland. He will be a nice pickup. Midland College produces a lot of really good players. GBO

is he a back to the basket player or face-up. Can he match up on defense at the 5? Going to be any help as a rebounder? Is he a starter candidate, or do you see him more as insurance for Hall's foul issues?

I don't really follow basketball all that much. How does this new coaching staff seem to be doing? I see there have been five commits with Miller being the most recent. As a whole, is this a good haul of kids?

So far, we're going to be the best mid-major in the SEC.

We're taking these guys because all the good players are signed elsewhere already, but we still have to field a team next year somehow.

If we're still settling for players like this next year, then this statement might be fair. I don't think that will happen though.

It's astonishing that so many people don't understand this.

What? The whole reason I said that was because another poster seemed to not understand the situation.

I think you misunderstood the point of my post. I wasn't calling you out; I was simply saying that it's not surprising at all to me that so many people don't understand what you were talking about based on reading some of the posts we've seen during the Pearl fiasco.

Law, I'm sure you wouldn't hesitate to attribute this to your opinion of my intellect, but some of your posts are difficult to understand.

Hope CM isn't wasting schollies..2012 & 2013 are good years as fas as TN recruits. 2013 has J. Williams, Nick King, and Austin Nochols. 2012 has already been discussed, so everyone knows about Alex & Jarnell.

I think he'll have one open in 2011, supposing he doesn't sign anyone else, and three open for 2012. Too hard to speculate what 2013 will look like.

3 is a good # for 2012. More than that and he would pretty much be phoning the 2011 season in.

It was just a one-liner. Not stellar, but serviceable. Much like our recruits.

Everybody understands that "we're taking these guys, etc", but some of us don't understand how Coach Martin can say on the one hand that he doesn't want to take anyone who will fill a roster spot only to be excess baggage when the recruits we really want come in over the next year or two, and then, on the other hand, fill the roster with guys whose best offers are the likes of, oh, Missouri State. He seems to be contradicting his own avowed philosophy.

...or he's building the best mid-major in the SEC.

There are some players on the team that may not be able to keep their scholarship if we are able to get recruits we really want--think McBee, for example.
