They will get in before we do and the committee will drop us this next week to make sure. They will probably go out of their way to make Penn St leap us even though they have lost the only 2 games the played a decent team.
The committee wants Bama or OSU or both in and they will try as hard as possible, including a media campaign to sell it and make it happen
If the committee is involved in or influenced by media campaigns and sales pitches, they're not worth a bucket of piss and should be disbanded.

If TCU or So. cal loses Bama is in if they both lose Ohio St gets in with Bama if Michigan loses us or Penn. St will get in

I understand and I am just saying what I heard, again I hope you are right and I am wrong, I would love to come in ahead of Alabama because I do believe there is a fair chance No. 6 gets in.
I am not predicting that Tennessee will be in front. I am just saying if their guidelines that are in print are what they are supposed to use and they go by it Tennessee should be the team. GBO

I assure you if everything was turned around, UT loses to 2 teams away, Bama being one, and Bama gets clobbered by USCe, that Bama would still be ahead of us.
Even if Young was out they would still be. They would spin it the other way. I believe your right. GBO

Well launch a formal complaint if it doesnt go by the guideline, thats all I can tell ya.

With head to head records both 10-2, —Tennessee beat Bama and LSU (on the road), Bama lost to both UT and LSU (on the road)
SOS for both teams about the same
South Carolina win AT Clemson makes our beat down eye test not quite as bad ( yeah we blew it, but we still pulled out 10-2 record with tough road wins at Pitt and LSU)
VOTE!
Simple we beat them without question. We beat LSU! They are biased! Phuckem!

You guys are missing what I’ve been saying in other threads is the most important point. We no longer have our star QB and therefore are not the team we were prior to Nov. 19. No matter our SOS, quality wins, etc. we are not one of the four best teams without Hendon Hooker. As a result, we will be treated accordingly and not sniff the CFP - even with chaos this weekend.

I’d love to agree, and I even made the same point of why Bama jumped us in the polls this past week on twitter. But there is another factor, even without Hooker we beat Vandy by more than they did.

But none of this matters cause the committee, SEC and NCAA will go out of its way to hand Bama and Saban a ticket to the playoffs over us.

I meant to quote this off my post you replied to but got the wrong one...
I copied this straight from the CFP Selection Committee Website as you can see loss of a key player is a factor.

2. PRINCIPLES
  • The committee will select the teams using a process that distinguishes among otherwise comparable teams by considering:
    • Conference championships won,
    • Strength of schedule,
    • Head‐to‐head competition,
    • Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory), and,
    • Other relevant factors such as unavailability of key players and coaches that may have affected a team’s performance during the season or likely will affect its postseason performance.

It's something the committee uses to make their determination, right or wrong it's how they do it, also it's a little easier to recover from Jamaal getting hurt when Travis Henry is backing him up, but for instance the 49ers lost Montana or the Patriots lost Brady, the Chiefs lost Mahomes, losses like that would most definitely affect a team like losing Hendon does to us.

No, because Jamal was injured early in game #4 and we still went unbeaten, proving we could still win at the highest level without him. Hooker was injured during the 4th quarter of our next-to-last game while we were losing by double digits to a 6-4 team, and the only game since then was a drubbing of lowly Vanderbilt. Your comparison is absurd.

If the playoff committee goes by their criteria it is Tenn hands down. Shall see how they treat this deal. The "lying czar" will do his part before Tuesday night or trot his ass on every championship preview show to tout his mediocre bummer team.

This is part of their criteria:
  • Other relevant factors such as unavailability of key players and coaches that may have affected a team’s performance during the season or likely will affect its postseason performance.

I really wish the committee would bump us over the gumps. My interest isn't in it being a shot to get in the playoffs as much as it would be to piss off so many.

Absolutely we should and Bama is 4th overall in the entire SEC. How they have even the slightest chance to get into the playoff is beyond me. They should be one spot behind us in the final rankings.
Yea, sec rankings
Georgia
Tennessee
Lsu
Alabama

I wish Tennessee could play Georgia in the SEC championship.
