June TN camps

How in the heck are they going to be able to eval so many kids at once??????

This is going to be a loaded camp. This is great. Even if we don't land all of the kids, camps like this one become great ways to advertise UT. These kids go back home and tell their friends and other recruits about the program. They talk to the coaches. Plants the seed not for just the year, but also for the future too!!

Dudes,

The qb list is just ridiculous.

We probably need more olineman..,,

Add LB Ferlando Bohanna...

And don't worry about us having some few OL listed. JB said that we should expect anywhere from 150-200 DL and OL combined...

I kno right I can't even imagine and plus ESPN:crazy:

What's the difference between the SKILLS camp and the INDIVIDUAL camp? Who would attend which?

yeah i was thinking phillip sims...sorry

No problem. Thanks for keeping up with this. Volfan X has a very, very good article up on Basilio's website about the prospects that should be at camp. He nails the DT's that I think we are most likely to get commits from soon.
Evan Hailes, 6'1" 305 lbs, Oscar Smith HS, Chesapeake, VA.
Planning to be on campus June 18. Although he hasn’t officially named a leader, unofficially most think UT is the team to beat. I think this is a commitment this staff would like to wrap up this month. Virginia Tech is the chief competition for this prospect. He is a teammate of UT “freshman to be” Jerod Askew. Pay attention to this one for sure.

Kelcy Quarles, 6"4" 260 lbs, Greenwood HS, Greenwood SC
Number 1 defensive tackle prospect in the country and currently a South Carolina commitment. However, this kid loves UT. After O&W game many felt he was on the verge on changing his commitment to UT. Couple of weeks ago, his father informed media outlets that his sons’ recruitment was done and he indeed was re-affirming his commitment to South Carolina. Guess his kid didn’t get the memo….. I understand he and Coach O regularly spend time talking with one another. He is also going to attend camp at UT. I don’t think he changes his commitment anytime soon but I do not count UT out of this one by any stretch.

Richard Ash, 6'4" 260 lbs, Pahokee HS, Pahokee , FL
I know UT really likes this prospect from Pahokee High. He could wind up as either a defensive end or a defensive tackle. Right now, he mentions UT as a school in which he has interest. If he makes it to campus, UT becomes part of the mix in my opinion. I still think Florida is the team to beat. This is the type of prospect that can play for anyone in the country.

Hailes is a vol
Quarles's dad won't let him be a vol....ala Marlon brown
Ash will be a gator in my opinion

Broussard, Harris, Hailes will be solid
We will probably get Kilgo or someone else too...

now if SC comes out and goes 5-7..then Quarles may be a vol
Orgeron needs to work the dad hard.."If you want your boy to make $ in the NFL then he needs to come play under me"

OLB Patrick Swilling Jr (maybe)

In June, there's some schools I'm going to camp at. I haven't really sat down and decided. I know I'm trying to go to USC in a couple weeks, Vandy in a couple weeks, LSU and I'll probably be coming up to Tennessee also."

Added Jonathan Brown from Memphis. He is coming up with his dad (HS Coach ) and Justin Maclin and his dad.

Florida will get an unofficial visit this summer and so will LSU and Tennessee

per rivals article 5/22 LINK

and a volquest article 5/13 LINK:
Scroggins plans on making a decision at some point during July or August. He will take a couple of trips in June, including a trip to Knoxville to check out the Vols on June 18th.

I could be wrong but it sounds like an unoffical, not a camp.

June 18th is a camp day...

even if he doesn't participate, I think we can say "he is coming to camp"

also, what do you think it is called when a recruit comes on campus during the summer? Do you think all the other people coming to camp aren't here on an "unofficial visit"?

Yes, technically they are all "visiting" but a lot of kids come go to camps to learn from the coaches, and we have Monte Kiffin and Ed Orgeron so obviously a lot of people are coming to our camp. Also many kids come because they want to earn offers. But usually kids on unofficial visits spend time touring the campus, (not playing football as they do in camps) talk to the coaches, and a lot spend time in the film room.... So do you get the difference between an unofficial and a camp now smart a$$?

Please point me to anything stating that he will not be "participating" in drills at camp. Otherwise, I think we can assume that he will be.

I quoted two recent rival posts (above) that make it seem like he will be here as on a unofficial, not for a camp (there is a difference) but couldn't find an article saying that he will be here for camp, though i didn't search too thoroughly and that might be the case.
