We enslaved Africans Americans for almost a century. We stopped. Now we celebrate the fact that we stopped being monsters.

Then we spent almost another century treating them separate and no where near equal. Not slaves. But like ****. MLK fought to end that. We celebrate him for it.

Your analogy is the equivalent to saying why do we celebrate July 4th and MLK day? I mean MLK stood for freedom. And we are free from the British.

IMO, it seems MLK's ideologies are losing favor considering the schools are fighting to teach CRT and "manufactured racism" is brought into so many things these days. Society is getting further away from his beliefs.

How much does this holiday cost us taxpayers? My guess is it's in the millions, the law that needs to be passed is on that forbids additional federal holidays. Any additional federal holidays needs to be a replacement or combination with another one.

From what I can see the Juneteenth festivities are largely comprised of twerking on government vehicles......

Note to self:
1) get in shape
2) learn to twerk
