Just called Griner "Best Women's player ever"

Vols...admit it.

Griner is easily one of the best. Lucky genetics or not, she changes the game completely.

Nope. Won't admit it. She dominates but her skill set does not even put her into the Top 10 of Women's great players of all time....

That's what I thought as well. But they praise her like she's this once in a life time talent when she's just a once in a life time 6'8 XX chromosome. I think about it like this. The greatest talents in women's ball won multiple titles in college, Griner has found a way to win none so far.

I just think if you did an all time team in terms of talent she wouldn't be on it. But if you did say an all defensive team (something that requires no talent) she'd be first.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that defense requires no talent, but I agree with the premise that Griner is not the greatest ever.

Brittney Griner does an excellent job of taking advantage of what an extreme physical rarity she is. She's not a stiff who happens to be very tall. She's a great player who's the most dominant player in college basketball, men's or women's, because she's so tall.

But, she's not the greatest player ever. She may be the biggest difference maker ever though. Had she gone to Tennessee or UConn, she'd have multiple titles by now.

Comeon now, I love some Lady Vol basketball, but lets not digress into this joke of a discussion between Women's and Men's.

The debate isn't over the obvious fact that she changes the game completely. The debate is over the announcer's absurd what-have-you-done-for-me-this-season declaration that she is the greatest player ever.

Where did I say she was better than men's players?

I'm just saying she changes the game more than any other player in all of college basketball.

It's all relative. Griner changes the game more than Shaq. I heard that, way before my time, Wilt Chamberlain often was matched against guys who were much smaller. Wilt is thus the best men's comparison I can think of.

Lol the butthurt is all over this forum.

Whether talentless or not, Griner changes the game no matter what side she is on. She is easily to be considered in the discussion of the best ever.

Have you ever heard of a woman wearing 181/2 shoes? She will look like a stork if she ever puts on heels. PS no breast that are apparent, my vote is for Bill Griner.

Saying that if she was 6'4 she would suck, is like b****ing about Shaq being so tall, and that if he was 6'7, he'd suck.

Completely irrelevant. Like it or not, height is a key factor in affecting the game.

sHe's the best true post of all time.. When u factor in how she effects the game, it's ridiculous. The others listed r better basketball players, but griners physical gifts alone get her on the all time team.

She might be the 2nd or 3rd best center ever to play women's college basketball....but not overall player. Holtzclaw, Parker, Taurasi, and Maya Moore are right there in recent history. But really the women's game is so different now than it was 25 years ago that its unfair to compare some of the old time greats to the players today. The athleticism is just off the charts compared to the 70s and 80s.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Diana Turasi...along with Holdsclaw and Parker, I dont know how anyone could deny that she's one of the best to play the game...certainly better than Griner

I honestly think Sue Bird is better. Jmo though.

Candace Parker dominated women's basketball AFTER tearing her ACL.

I have watched very little WCBB since Parker left (my celebrity crush during my school days), but Griner has little offensive skill, and she's a BAD rebounder. She should be getting 15 per game. Griner is a very good defensive player, but it's not the fact she's 6'8. It's that 81 inch wingspan. Everyone says "She knows how not to foul." She doesn't have to with an 81 inch wingspan.

Griner is Michelle Snow + 3 inches (and arguably male genitalia). She's the female (stop laughing) version of Shawn Bradley.

Griner is a totally different player than Parker, Moore, Taurasi, etc. different positions, different responsibilities.. Apples and oranges.
