just for fun - which would you choose?

No way a title for LV is better for UT than Elite 8 for men. Elite 8 draws more attention, thus more fans(because more people care), more fans more tix sold thus more $ for UT because mens tix are not as cheap and not given away as much as womens tix. More $ again for UT. Boosters give more because of mens bball when successful(exhibit A is Pratt Pavilion). Better for UT. Furthermore, Mens bbal gets more TV $ (because more people care) sells more memorabillia(because more people care) than LV. An Elite 8 for men is better for UT than title for LV, as is a sweet 16 for men. LV were winning titles for nearly 20 yrs until Bruce came in and mens bball was winning and making $ and the LV now have a renovated arena and new practice facility. Also, how can you say the UConn womans team stinks? They dominate womens bball and you argue womens bball is on par with mens. I bet you think the Lady Vols would make the mens sweet 16.

Said I am glad if they win just arguing your point that it is better for school for LV to win title than men going to elite 8. Also, LV winning titles is much easier than the men. I am sure if the men played a schedule that annually presented less than a handful of competitive teams, they would have some. You also said the womens game gets similiar tv viewership as men and has as much interest. Patently false.

So earlier this season I was flipping around the ESPN channels and came on a women's game, #1 UConn vs #2 Baylor (I think) with UConn's streak on the line, UConn up by 1, maybe 45 seconds left, so I figure what the hell, I'll watch the end of it. UConn's got the ball, maybe 10 seconds more on the game clock than the shot clock. So UConn brings it up with a chance to go up by 3, they dribble around, and a UConn player takes a 17 footer with a few seconds left on the shot clock. Airball. Baylor rebounds, brings it up, down one with a chance to win on the last shot. They pass it around and a Baylor player gets a wide-open look from about 20 feet to win. Airball. This is #1 vs #2, a game ESPN wouldn't shut up about all day, and it ends on two freaking airballs. This is women's basketball.

I'm proud of the Lady Vols' success, I wish them the best, but the sport is unwatchable. I can make myself sit through a national championship game when they play in it, sort of, but I need a whole lot of beer and something to read while the game is on.

haha nice one. Elite 8 and not even close. I can't stand Geno though. I watched some of that Notre Dame / Uconn games tonight and that man seriously makes me sick. This Tennessee team is so unpredictable and capable that they could make an Elite 8 run.

Just glad the men don't have to run through the rigorous gauntlet of basketball greatness that is the womens tourney.

Can't wait for response for this! Haha. I am guessing Angie Borklund is better than DeLonte West. Haha. Can anyone name, without looking up, last years WNBA champ?
