Sad, but true. But at least our conscience is clear. But I am guessing that as long as UK wins, Kentucky fans are juuuuuuuust fine with it. :eek:hmy:

In a way I understand the hire. UK needed a home run after the Gillispie debacle, and they whiffed on Donovan, Izzo and Wright. Cal offered them a golden ticket, and they took it. It's just that when it comes down to it for me, I support the school and the state, ABOVE the basketball program. It is a matter of pride, not just athletic pride. Most do not understand what you are sacrificing by supporting on the latter of those two choices.

I think you are right unfortunately. Just like Bama in football, that program is on autopilot now. Kids are knocking down Satan's door to go there...

The question is though.. when is the giant ego of both Calipari and Satan gonna show thru and head for that NBA/NFL gig? If I were a UK fan, that would be on my mind, cause he WILL go when they come a knocking...

Maximum at best, Cal is here 6 more seasons. 6 years with no title, and he will jump into something else. If he wins a title then he will feel validated, and then jump into something else. Pitino leaves UL in 2017, and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him go around that time, or even before.

if cal is here 6 more years i would be shocked. i dont see uk fans keeping him around without a title for more than 3 years after this year, so 4 more i guess technically. i also dont see him being at uk for 9 years without the ncaa coming around town and him leaving dodge.

The only part I definitely disagree with is him being run out of town for not having a title. I think they are looking at their roster and thinking that, talent-wise, this is as good as it gets. Good reason - it is. The only knock, and it will get even louder next year, is lack of veteran leadership. They know their talent level will decrease if any other coach on the planet takes charge. I'm not saying they'll plummet; I'm just saying there's only one coach who's consistently, somehow, stuffing his class with 5-star players every year. It's not like, down the road if they don't win it all, they're going to find a coach to do a better job with the current roster - because, it's going to turn over every year. Not saying they'll never win it again...just saying, where are they going to look to increase the odds?

from living in KY for a year and a half i have multiple UK friends. the vast majority of them feel completely the other way of what you have stated. im not saying they are calling for his head but they have all stated that if they dont win this year the rumblings will start. if they dont win the following year the rumblings will get louder and louder each year. UK is different from most places, a final four isnt a succesful season they either win it all or it was a bad season, that is the way these people are im not kidding you they are nuts. they will not sit around and continue to get knocked out of the ncaa tourney too early in their minds year in and year out and be ok with it, while nc or duke rack up championships. im telling you, to say cal wont get run out for not winning a championship is the furthest thing from the truth, he can recruit lebron there they dont care bring championships or pack your bags.

Awww it's OK really. The no life trolls are actually what kind of makes this place a little interesting. I mean, can you imagine being so impotent and bored with your miniscule life that you have to go onto the... let's say.. Bama or Florida forum to gloat about your only win in the last 26 years? And to also gloat over a team that you OBVIOUSLY outclass and have for years? No.. guys... trolls like that have no life, and probably wear very small shoes.

That's what most amazes me, I would NEVER go to another board and try to talk about UT, how pathetic. As I've said multiple times my guess is he wasnt even wanted by the uk fans and he was completely shunned. Pretty bad to get shunned by people from uk, their standard arent that high.

I guess if you're right, and they do send Calipari packing, it would be for a philosophical change (some multi-year players), because it won't make the talent level go up.

Lets see the breakdown for each team between Tues, Wed and Thursday games

Doing a quick check for SEC East Teams:
1. Kentucky = 5 Tuesday, 1 Wednesday, 1 Thursday (Next game is Sunday tho)
2. Vandy = 4 Tuesday, 2 Wednesdays, 2 Thursday (1 of those next games is Sunday)
3. Florida = 5 Tuesday, 2 Thursdays
4. South Carolina = 1 Tuesday, 5 Wednesday, 1 Thursday
5. Georgia = 2 Tuesdays, 5 Wednesday, 1 Thursday
6. Tenn = 2 Tuesdays, 5 Wednesdays, 1 Thursday

SEC West
1. LSU = 2 Tuesdays, 5 Wednesdays, 0 Thursdays
2. Auburn = 3 Tuesdays, 4 Wednesdays, 0 Thursdays
3. Alabama = 2 Tuesdays, 3 Wednesdays, 2 Thursdays
4. Miss St = 2 Tuesdays, 3 Wednesdays, 2 Thursdays
5. Ole Miss = 1 Tuesday, 3 Wednesdays, 3 Thursdays
6. Arkansas = 3 Tuesdays, 4 Wednesdays, 1 Thursday

10 of the 12 teams have a game on Thursday. Most have just 1. Vandy has two but with one of those their next game is on a Sunday.

We have one against UGA but don't play UF until Sunday. If anyone should complain it should be Ole Miss since they have 3 instances where they play Thu-Sat.
