Back on topic . . . I just saw Bill Frist on a Sunday morning show

Did you see Durbin dodge the question about why we must consult with Mexico prior to building a wall? If you ever want an example of a non-answer, that was it.

Just a taste "Good fences make good neighbors..." -- Dick Durbin

I'm sure Dick Turbin's neighbors would agree.

Yep . . . It was textbook political speak . . . Then he went on to praise Barack Obama to the point that I thought he was going to propose marriage on the air.

i watched both of them, they both side stepped the questions being asked. Frist all but said he did what W wanted and durbin said all but he did what reid wanted. the usual both sides playing there stupid games. durbin was promoting obama though. i can see him as a presidential or vice presidential canidate. it would be hard for the republicans to dig up dirt on him, but it is the only way they can win so i'm sure rove will do his best. they should rename the republican party the slander party. thats what they are good at. :biggrin2:

i disagree. i think W just is trying to improve his poll numbers, nobody will convince me otherwise. frists original plan was good, out of all of them it was the best. after they altered it, the bill doesn't really mean anything except giving 20 million illegals amnesty. that is what W wanted all along anyway. bush led texas for how many years, he knew the problems and he is just now getting around to doing something about this. not a chance. the republicans can make up some ground with me if they shoot this bill down in congress though. i'll have to admit i'm back to almost split ticket again after this mess. i like alexander he has character, but frist is lacking. i still disagree about obama to, i 'll guarantee he is more qualified to be president than what W was. W never did anything except run texas into the ground and he was elected president off his dads name. obama probably doesn't have that many ties to big buisness either and he made himself unlike somebody we know. the only republican i would vote for is powell, he is a great man. he just killed himself when he went along with W, bad career move. :biggrin2:

You are not paying attention to Bush. One of the few things I really like about him is the fact that he does what he thinks is right, regardless of how popular it may or may not be.

for the most part i agree, but not on this immigration bill. he is doing this to boost his poll numbers and no other reason. look at the bill, it pretty much does nothing. it sounds like he is doing something, but he is not. this is the most worthless bill i have ever seen. it gives 20 million law breakers amnesty and nothing else. he just pretty much spit on all the vets on memorial day. W he is a joke. :bad: :gun: :bad:
