Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away

2020 is going to suck even more and I didn't think it was possible but I should have known better.

I didn't agree with about 80% of her stances, but I do respect her accomplishment to the highest court.

Ginsburg thought the US Constitution unworthy of being a model for other countries, specifically the Egyptian model.

The fooking Egyptians, for crying out loud. Or anyone for that matter.

Ginsburg was a progressive first and constitutionalist second, and that is not the role of a supreme court justice, her ovaries notwithstanding. That she thought so little of the constitution she was sworn to protect and uphold and interpret, that she could not recommend it as a document worthy of emulation is disgraceful.

Pick it. You know what the hell simple majority means right? You’re weighting a non vote with the same weight as a no vote.

And before you step on your tool go look at the final Kavanaugh vote. Murkowski voted present to offset Daines who was not in attendance. Their votes were not counted because they didn’t vote.
I'll check later, but I think the Kavanaugh vote was 50-48.

The Supreme Court is supposed to be the guardian of the Constitution and yet, here we are fighting over what political power gets to nominate the next Justice.

The nominee should not be about left or right. It should be based on the merits of their work and how they interpret the guiding laws over our lands and not political affiliations.

Disclaimer: I’m well aware that it doesn’t work that way.

It was the left who started twisting and bastardizing the constitution.

Sister evil is just carrying that water with the implications. It’s a 6 vote delta. If 5 R’s just abstain then it’s still an affirmation.

I’m listening on the wind and I’m pretty sure I can hear Harry Reid cussing In Nevada all the way down in Texas.
He's wondering where that bitemark on his butt came from.

Amy Coney Barrett. Then the world would get to see the Dems and media try to demonize and smear a female into oblivion.

Born in 1972, Coney Barrett is a former Notre Dame Law School professor. Her 2017 confirmation to the federal bench was contentious, with several Democratic senators questioning whether her faith -- expressed in prior speeches -- would influence her jurisprudence. "The dogma lives loudly within you, and that's a concern," said Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. Barrett responded, "It's never appropriate for a judge to impose that judge's personal convictions, whether they arise from faith or anywhere else, on the law." Barrett was a former law clerk for the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

In the majority of cases before them political persuasion isn't important. However, it does seem like most of the high profile cases are based on politics. We just don't hear much about the ones that aren't.
