Do you not believe that Dems wouldn’t do the exact same thing if roles were reversed? This is happening. You’ll save yourself a lot of disappointment if you just acknowledge that and stop looking for Republicans with a spine who are going to step in and stop it. Do what you want, but that’s my opinion.
You post here as much as I do, do you really think Republican senators see themselves as having a mandate to act with fairness, decency, and consistency?
Tribal partisanship is the first principle of the Republican Party, right now. Look at the responses in here. The woman’s body wasn’t even cold before you had people saying that they had to keep Democrats out of the senate and lusting over the idea of ramming another justice through.
If the Republican senate can hand their voters a win for 15 minutes, they’ll do it, even if It gets undone in some fit of retaliation in the 16th minute when Democrats take control. Their voters have all the forethought of a smash & grab robber. They don’t care about the country or even what’s best for them beyond the next culture war skirmish. It’s political hedonism.
Hopefully Democrats will follow the lead of Biden’s campaign and start behaving differently when they retake the government, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
Newsflash, the Supreme Court’s job isn’t to interpret public sentiment. It’s to interpret the constitution. If that many people are opposed to the constitution, then the legislative branch can change it. Problem w libs is they think the Court is a super legislature77% of Americans want the core holding of Roe upheld. Just 13% want it overturned

I like this game.... now do democrats• Republicans outspoken against Russia pre-2016; immediately turn into vocal and ardent Russia supporters (because Russia started paying them and helping them win).
• Republicans outspoken against and opposed to executive power pre-2106; immediately and vocally support the extreme tryannical overreach of Donald Trump (because he's a Republican).
• Conservative think-tank The Heritage Foundation creates outline of Affordable Care Act & Republican Mitt Romney puts it into place as governor of Massachusetts - immediately and vocally condemn it as soon as Obama makes it the foundation of his healthcare policy
• Republicans bemoan and condemn the increase of the federal deficit - until Trump creates one of the largest federal deficits in recent memory to give tax dollars to corporations. Then they vocally and proudly support it.
• Republicans stoke xenophobia and drone on and on and one about the threat of "Radical Islam" - until Trump wants to sell billions of dollars of weaponry to Saudi Arabia, the most powerful, hardcore "islamic extremists" in the Middle East. Then, Saudi Arabia is a wonderful beacon of freedom (because they're paying them).

LOL. When it comes to this forum, the overwhelming amount of hostility shown is from Trump supporters. It's an aggressive and visceral anger. I will ask again: Do you guys honestly consider your approach to politics to be more civil than the radical left-wingers that you like to make fun of? This thread has been nuts.
I guess Mitch will need to take a tank back and forth to work.Dems Pledge Ongoing Protests Over RBG Replacement, Target Mitch McConnell’s Homes In DC, KY
Democrats and, particularly, progressive activists, have pledged ongoing protests targeting Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) over his plan to shepherd a replacement for the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg through the Senate confirmation process ahead of the November presidential election.
Before either party had weighed in on the political consequences of Ginsburg’s death, though, protesters had amassed outside the Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C., for a part-vigil, part-demonstration against filling Ginsburg’s seat with a Republican appointee. After a number of speeches and an impromptu memorial, protesters called up the location of Mitch McConnell’s D.C. home and marched over.
McConnell, to their great disappointment, was not home at the time.
“His house is entirely dark,” Charlotte Clymer of the Truman Project tweeted. ” Significant police presence out front. It’s clear that he’s not here, as confirmed by a neighbor who is not fond of him. People are going home.”

Elections have consequencesTrump loses the GE, has a 40% approval rating, appoints three judges who hold views that are maybe accepted by 25% of the population, get those approved by an anti-democratic body. Yeah, that's not exactly reflecting the will of a majority of Americans.
And I should add, the third if she gets approved, will be approved by a lame duck GOP senate that will likely have lost its majority position
They will have to put that in front of the Supreme Court to see if that is ruled unconstitutional lolIt's not anti constitution. The numbers of scotus justices is set by statute. It's been 9 since the 1800s though. That's gone if the GOP does this. And rightly so. This is not court packing. This is adjusting the court to bring it in line with the American citizens.
