Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away

Just spent the day in Atlanta.
My 60th birthday party.
People everywhere. Walked the beltline to a brewery. Still got a little buzz going.
Heard lots of political talk. The dem base will turn out in record numbers.
Saw no looters, fires, or murders but I did see lots of construction and Bi**Don 2020 signs everywhere.
Happy Birthday

There may be litigation. The electoral college tally will simply not be close enough, for any sort of legitimate challenge for who the winner is. Biden could easily win 329 electoral college votes. Check out the site 270 to win. They already have Biden with 278 electoral college votes, and that is without including states such as Florida, Arizona and North Carolina where Biden has shown slight but steady leads for months.

Similar story in 2016. Too soon to tell and many of the swing states will be close enough that the mail in kerfuffle will hold things up for a while - my prediction.

I'm betting there's a non-significant number of people that don't want to say in public that they plan to vote for Trump. I could be wrong.

Fair enough.
I believe most of you Trumpers are good people at your core. Just a little shallow and narrow in your thinking.....incapable or unwilling to see the big picture.
And this is what gives me a little hope. In the end most of us want the same thing just our paths to get there are different. Both sides need to learn and be willing to listen to the other, and that should start in Washington.

Kenneth Roberts (Northwest Passage - for you heathens and youngsters) wrote that the Revolution was the setup for the War Between the States. I was disappointed that he never fully explained his reasoning and precisely what were the differences he felt so critical; perhaps we are part of what's always been a divisive country bound to fail. However, I believe if we'd retained our original purpose, work ethic, and if some of us weren't sold on false prophets like Marx and whatever fashionable thought prances along that we'd have a country that might endure. Difference is good and it can shape something better, but when difference goes beyond reason, civility, and compromise, it's not possible - the physical term is exceeding the limits of elasticity and yield strength. It's hard to believe that people who've grown up in this country would even tolerate the thought of fundamental change or the thought that rather than making their own way that the state should redistribute the what others earned. All the government needs do is provide a reasonable platform for people to work and prosper - at minimal cost and with minimal disruption and regulation.

It was doomed as soon as men discovered that they could become wealthy through public "service." And the devolution accelerated once those same men realized they could secure their positions by promising to provide safety and security through the government. Populism killed the country. That's the fatal flaw of any government.

Bird Don? Bite Don? Bike Don? Happy B'day.

It needs to start in November. We need someone who will work to narrow the divide, not intentionally increase the divide.
But yes, I agree with your sentiment.

What youre asking for is a two way street. The Dims and national media have done nothing but attack him since day 1. Sure maybe Trump could've stepped up and offer first, but lets not act like the Dims ever gave him a chance. Both sides are at fault here.
Trump has been more interested in the fight itself than he has in bi-partisanship. Remember this line with Pelosi and Schumer in December of 2017?:

"Let's have a shutdown!" - Donald Trump.

That lasted over a month... and what good did it do? Trump gained nothing, and neither did the American people. Trump took a tense and already aggravated situation and made it worse.

So here's the good news if you're concerned about the situation: When Biden is elected, if the Dems take the Senate, they can simply change the number of SCOTUS justices.

6-3 now.

Change # of justices to 13.

Insert 4 new Biden-Nominated justices.

Game. Set. Match.

Nothing you can do to stop it, Trumptards.
You mean other than, if Trump is re-elected and maintains the senate get a law that limits any increase in the court to 8 years after first passed without being repealed, since the Dimatards have shown their hand.

Correct im not disagreeing that Trump hasn't been open. My point is though the Dims havent been open to him either in what he has done well.

Thanks for the prognostication. Last night you were saying this late nomination would derail R election efforts. Lets go Trump and nominate.

That's all they have. Every year Kentucky fans say they are going to challenge for the East in football. Comical really. It's all fun and games until the pads get to popping.

Honestly, I still think the best thing to happen in November is a gridlocked Washington. Just keep things at a stalemate for the next 4 years, and hopefully we get better options in 24

In other words you want smaller fed govt sentiment to concede. Nope. States can state but that is the line.

Sounds like it's over then. I guess I shouldn't even go vote for Trump.

As long as that stalemate is headed by Biden, I'm all in.
4 more years of Trump is not an option.
