Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away

Maybe true. But he’s going to be a one term POTUS. And what Trump fans need to understand it’s not his policies that will have screwed him. It’s what happens when you vote for a massive a-hole. To put it in Perot terms I wouldn’t trust him to run my McDonalds cash register. And in your heart you know you wouldn’t.

This has absolutely nothing to do with him appointing another SCOTUS , so now tell me why he shouldn’t ?

I don't think she is being that coy.

"... the decision on a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court should be made by the President who is elected on November 3rd." - Sen. Susan Collins

The only way that is being coy... is if you think she is going to claim that the election results are "rigged".

She never says I will not support any attempt by the president and Senate to get this nomination approved. She simply says what the senate and president should do. Importantly, she does not say, if they act contrary to what they SHOULD do, I won't follow along.

I guess I don't need to vote for Trump then, since you have called the election already.
You can vote all you want man. But nothing is reflecting he wins. All you have to have is a understanding of probabilities. And they are far worse now then they were with Hillary. It’s a personality thing. The majority of Americans don’t want a first class ass to be POTUS.

Even if Garland had been given a vote, or even confirmed, the reaction today from Democrats would be the same.

It’s not about Garland.

It is 100% about Trump making the pick, a 3rd pick. Only exacerbated by the fact that it is RBG being replaced.

Doubtful, if Drumpf nominated Garland it would be the classiest thing he has ever done in his life.

Speaking of crying and pissing. Mitch wrote the book. Remember he " would not confirm anyone that President Obama appointed"
The anyone aspect shows McConnell's disregard for America. He was so upset that he would not confirm his own pick, just because obama nominated. So the obstruction started and will continue.

It has a lot to do with hypocrisy. The fact that Garland didn't get a vote is not lost on anyone. Read what Susan Collins wrote... she even alludes to "fairly and consistently". She is talking about the hypocrisy of Senate Republicans and their handling of Merrick Garland's nomination.
And I’m saying that even if he had been confirmed, the reaction to Trump replacing RBG would be the same.

Garland got a raw deal, but this isn’t about him.

It’s amusing to watch you two talk about what SHOULD and SHOULD NOT be done by the party you e spend 4 years running down and trashing . 😂

Do they want an old man with dementia who tells voters that he doesn't work for them, calls them fat, and liars? That kind of sounds like a first class ass to me.

I don't think she has to. If there is a vote prior to November 3rd, then she will be locked in to doing something. She can vote "yay", "nay" or "present". She will get killed if she votes "yay".

I would actually vote for her, instead of sitting it out if she voted for the pick.

They did elect a man in 2016 who is also old, and routinely ridicules other people for their physical appearance, even though he is overweight himself... and orange.

It looks like it. Trumps total problem is his personality and inability to ever tell the truth. I know you are big on him. But even you know half the **** that comes out of his mouth is bs.

So are the dims going to find some guy they can trot out there and claim ACB sexually assaulted him in college?🤔

I hope so . I want to watch them talk about how it’s all just a job interview again, while they reverse course on the #Metoo #BelieveAllWomen movement .

Hillary won by 22,000 with less than 48% of the vote. Gary Johnson had 38,000.
Maine is one of those weird states that splits their electoral votes. In the 2nd district, Biden leads Trump by anywhere from 2 to 3 points. However, in the rest of the state, Biden's lead over Trump is anywhere from 15 to 17 points. Trump's popularity has clearly dropped in Maine since he took office.

No she won’t get “killed”. Quit being so dramatic
I think Gideon will defeat Collins by 4 to 6 points. Collins has voted with Trump so many times that it has become easy to portray her as further right than where she has successfully run in the past. Her appeal has always been that she is a moderate who wouldn't be a rubber stamp vote for a Republican President... but that is what she has become for Trump, and it's being used against her in this campaign.

Not just that. Their senatorial election rules are weird, too - something called ranked choice voting. If I have the rules down right, you fill out the ballot by choice 1 -2 -3 -4 etc. Assuming Ds and Rs won't vote the other for second place, an independent gets an inordinate number of second place votes. Then it really gets strange unless someone gets over 50% of the first place votes. Just so you really understand how screwed up the process is SF and some other cities (the strange ones) have implemented it ... Memphis has approved but not yet implemented it - that in itself should tell you all you need to know.

I'll have to say that political leanings aside, I'd rather look at (and probably listen) to Gideon. At least with her, it won't take long to figure out for sure that she will toe the party line. Collins has been like a snake in the grass - never to be trusted.
