Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away

Would not have mattered if the left had chosen more wisely . If Trump is the most despicable , horrible , intolerable human ever , how does he win with a minority of supporters ? That’s the lefts cross to bear .
A lot of people collectively did an incredibly stupid thing. It's happened a few times throughout recorded history.

This is the chance for the GOP to ends the arms race. If they push forward with this and lose the POTUS and Senate, the Dems will quickly eliminate any remaining element of the filibuster, increase SCOTUS justices from 9 to 15, and expand the federal district and appellate courts as well. I don't see how they can sit around and act like the federal judiciary is legitimate when the GOP continues to play games to stock it full, in many cases, of completely unqualified judges who are simply there to do the political bidding of the GOP. For God's sake, Trump is nominating people as judges who have not argued so much as a motion to dismiss before.
Thanks Harry Reid. You girls shouldn’t have turned up the thermostat if you can’t stand the heat

Reactions: AM64 and 1972 Grad
I saw a video of a lawyer that said many people don't realize that this hurts the dems more than just a possible Trump appointment making it on the SC before the election or even before inauguration. Many believe that the democrats will refuse to accept the results of the election and will try to steal it in the courts. Many think this will make it all the way to the supreme court. If that occurs, there is one less liberal court member and it will likely thwart any attempt by the dems to steal the election.
That was actually my first thought.

This post made me think of something Dan Bongino talks about often.

He says that conservatives think of liberals as “people with bad ideas” VS hard left liberals who think of conservatives as “bad people with ideas”

It’s a pretty accurate observation based on what we’re seeing in 2020.
It's the whole segregation / integration conundrum.
Segregationists thought integrationists were people with bad ideas.
Integrationists thought segregationists had ideas that would primarily only be held by bad people.

Hypocrisy Alert: Leaked Podesta Emails Show Democrats Were Considering Scalia’s Replacement Just Hours After His Death

Since the announcement of the passing of Justice Ginsburg on Friday, the left has been on a march to block any effort of Republicans to replace the deceased judge on the Court. Among the “defenses” they are offering is the “too-soon” claim, that is “She just died and Republicans are soulless for attempting to replace her this soon.”
Wikileaks obtained (either legally or illegally) access to John Podesta’s emails from the hours after the death of Antonin Scalia in 2016. The emails, which are available here, have varying degrees of discussion into the replacement from suggestions of replacements to articles about how Democrats would be “favored” in their choice of a new judge.

Love this thread. Screeching about illegitimacy when a President is going to do his constitutional duties. Screeching about expanding the judiciary because you lost and desire an unfair competitive advantage to expand your radical agenda.

Democrats, at what point did you realize you are the true enemies of America?

Senator Chris Coons said today in an interview with Chris Wallace that we should honor RBG's last wish and let the next president nominate the next supreme court justice. LOL! Is he f'n kidding me? What difference does it make if Trump nominates a justice today or in 6 weeks?
Exactly. Just wait.

I love the "dying last wish" bullsh!t.."Omgerd you wont honor a womans dying last wish!!". These are the same people who believed the Russian collusion nonsense, lets never forget that.

I LOVE watching democrats squirm and lose their sh!t over this as they realize they have focused all of their water head hate and anger in the wrong place, again.

I’m going to go ahead and say it since it’s already used for tweets ... “ There’s a private email leak for every occasion” .

I asked, and I guess you missed the post. Why? Why wait, and why should her last wishes dictate policy?
Because left wingers like Luther have fragile ego's and are emotionally crippled. When something offends their delicate emotion's they can't function, whine, fall into the fetal position, suck their thumb, and dream about winning a civil war only to wake up to their harsh reality of being nothing more than natural selection refugees.

You did. You never mentioned having both the senate and the presidency.
I would hope they would do the correct thing and delay the vote. Had the Trumpism catastrophe never happened, it would be a far more united country, but we'll never know.
I do know that across the board, the correct thing would have had a far greater probability of happening in the alternative universe where Trump lost in 2016.

I agree with everything except the time line of cooperation , it was already pretty much dead in Congress before 2016 .

Not following you. If the Republicans had not stonewalled Garland, I would have no objection to Trump appointing a nominee now. There's no limitation in the constitution as to when the president is no longer permitted to appoint. The Republicans created a de facto rule in 2016 purportedly based on a principle that would apply across the board (no consideration of a scotus nominee during a presidential election year; let the voters select a president and he'll decide). That's not being followed now. If they don't follow it here, they've demonstrated that they view scotus as a political arm. As such, I have no issue with Dems expanding the court to 15 if and when they gain senate and POTUS. Ditto with GOP. Now is the chance for the GOP to end the arms race. If they don't, eff em. The SCOTUS will just be another political branch and the rule of law dead.

Dems supported the principle that POTUS gets to nominate and nominee gets a vote. Mitch didn't allow it and Dems howled (on principle). Now Dems are switching their position not based on standing on principle but instead on some "he started it" or "if they can do it we can do it" principle. Dems have gone 180 on the issue which means they aren't standing on principle.

Funny that the GOP has to be the one to end the arms race. Dems could have done that multiple times but decided against it.

haven't fact checked but seems legit

Nope. That’s what’s called a fact. I realize you girls aren’t accustomed to acknowledging them though when they counter your schtick 😂
The Dems have played incredibly hard and dirty against the Trump admin with senate investigations that amounted to literally nothing, as well as impeachment with literally no crimes listed. Now they're reduced to emotional appeals and begging for mercy, while simultaneously threatening the same old dirty pool politics if they don't get their way.

It's bizarre to say the least.

And I might side with you if the democrats hadn't went out of there way to try and smear a good man's name all because the appointment wasn't one of their. It was a total unethical means of trying to block the selection. It was scorched earth policy.

Now you want to talk about what's fair. Screw your party and their underhanded tactics. Don't want to play dirty pool, don't start the game.

That's like trying to justify whipping out the ar-15 and shooting up the neighbor's house because their kids were throwing pebbles at your dog.
