Justin Hunter Going Pro

Dumb move in all honesty. He was a fraction of his former self this year. Looked his best his freshman year and could have stayed his senior season to get even better imo.

I'd argue he's looking at it the same way Marcus Lattimore is. Why stick around another year and risk another injury? May as well take a lower draft pick and start your NFL career.

Also, next years draft will have a lot of good receivers in it, especially if Woods doesn't enter this year.

Marquis lee
Robert woods
Sammy watkins

This year would have been different for Justin if we had a chance of playing for a championship. I believe that he would have been a much different player then. But, when you are playing for the debacle we called a season this year, with no chance of winning a championship, maybe he felt it was in his and his families best interest to continue to get healthy and prepare for life in the NFL.

Not saying that this is the way I would hope that our players play, but just taking a different perspective on it.

Sandbagging?? Dude...please. He was 3rd in the SEC in yards this season and 2nd in UT's history for most catches in a season. I wouldn't call that sandbagging. Yeah he had some drops but still had a great season and two great years.

I say best of luck Justin and thanks for all you did for UT. Go VOLS!

I imagine that he is talking about when Hunter would catch a ball and turn around, face the defense and then just fall to ground....

You must not think much of him.

Why? Because he will be avg in the NFL, he is still saying he will play on Sunday, but if he drops as many passes as he did this year or run the incorrect routes he will be sitting on sundays...

That's true. It's a gamble with positives and negatives each way.

Kid went through a whole lot in his time here. Best of luck to him. I hope he is a perennial pro-bowler.

I wish him all the best in the NFL. I always want to see Vols do well in the professional ranks. That said, my opinion is that he'll be "just a guy" at best playing on Sunday.

Well with him being "just a guy" on Sundays is a lot more than you've accomplished in your life. Loser.

I like hunter, but realistically he is super weak. He will absolutely get man handled in the NFL by physical corner backs. Press coverage is going to kill him unless he adds about 20lbs.

According to Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net:

@TonyPauline: Justin Hunter/WR/Tennessee, interviewing agents, deciding on representation and will enter the draft...

Selfishly, I was hoping that he would remain here; however the risk of another injury to him or his stats going down due to a new coach or new offense is not worth the risk.

I realize he has a son and needs to do what is best for his family.

Justin, welcome to the Miami Dolphins. I hope you like south Florida!!!!!!! * He is projected to be a Dolphin*

Jason Allen came back his senior season to move from safety to corner and it almost cost him dearly. His had a hip injury during the UGA game. He recovered and was still drafted in the 1st round though.

A. Foster returned for his senior season and his draft status fell ALOT! From draftable in the second round to a non draftable practice squad player.....

I could see the Pats going after CP who will announce likely by the end of the week, and start him out of special teams.

Seahawks will go for Hunter

if/when CP declares i think he'll be graded too high to fall to the pats...unless they have like 11 picks again this year and trade up :ermm:

Dropping passes never stopped Willie Gault
