Juwan Howard Punches Wisconsin Asst Coach

Not that it’s wasn’t already easy to root against Michigan, after such a feckless punishment I wouldn’t be sad to see them completely tank so long as they have such weak leadership at that university

That's an antiquated and stupid idea that your wife/daughter's honor is dependent on the words of an idiot. If you believe that, you think too little of your wife/daughter's honor, and are needlessly putting hat honor in the wrong hands.

You don't commit violence on a person merely over words.
In case you can’t tell there are many idiots that don’t know when to keep their opinions to themselves. You cross the line with my wife or daughter (or anyone else’s wife or daughter) and you don’t walk it back, there will be bloodshed so that next time you’ll know better. I took a marriage vow to love, honor and protect my wife

Who was the sports writer who said Tennessee shouldn’t have any fans in the stands the rest of the season after the ole miss game? What’s he think about Juwan who punched another coach on the floor still having the chance to coach again this season?

Ironically, I just read that article- Pete Thamel. I was looking back at articles about that officiating crew.

The billy badass that ran up yelling and got bitchslapped is the one that needs to be fired.
No question Howard needed to be suspended and I think he got off light with 5 games. But your description of a “b**** slap” is a different than mine. He took a semi-slap swing/slap at the guy and barely brushed the side of his head. As another poster said, I’ve seen a 3 year old slap better than that. Pretty sad attempt for a 6-9 supposed tough guy. It certainly didn’t resemble Kermit Washington.

Did you see him screaming like a b!tch (hence bitchslap) afterwards? He was yelling "he hit me" and pointing to his mug, what a pus.

Honestly you just make the situation worse by defending them. Why put your future or life at risk to punish some idiot for being an idiot? What if they kill you, what if you knock them out and they fall wrong and die? It’s hard but in this day the best thing is to walk away.

Izzo is one of the last dying breeds in college basketball.

Tough, hard nosed guy who tells it like it is.

Respect.

We can play what ifs all day... what if these punks realize there's somebody there to stand up for defenseless women and all the battered women's shelters could close. Or if no woman had to be concerned about date rape because it'd be the last time that part of their anatomy worked.

You’re talking about something entirely different, insults versus physical violence against women. And believe me I think we’re probably on the same level philosophically, if we lived in a just world. I’m just saying idk if a jury of your peers would be as sympathetic for you committing an act of violence for an insult.

I hope so, I don't know (of) too many guys that are "only" verbally abusive. Once they cross the first line the second is right there.

You jumped from words to battering and rape.

Committing violence on someone because they used words is showing your weakness. Not your strength.

Oh yeah, I would be fine with you slapping the crap out of someone if they’re talking bad about your wife or daughter. I’m just saying in this crappy world you’re opening yourself up to civil or criminal charges or something worse.

I'll let you ruminate on what a friend's daughter told him about "giving her away" at her wedding.

"I'm a grown woman a thesis away from a Master's Degree in Finance and a job at a Fortune 50 company who has no long-term debt. Why do I need to be 'given' to my chosen lover?"

Treating women like they can't take care of themselves is very 1950s.

So did your friend share that with pride? Who brought up the "giving away" between he and his daughter. While I walked my daughter down the aisle, the statement was "her mother and i" gave her away...... and by the way my daughter is also only a few hours from a masters, has a directors level job with an international company and realizes we "helped" her get to where she is, she didn't get there alone.

Did she pay for her wedding or dear old Dad pay for it? If she didn't want her dad to walk her down the isle and give her away I hope she footed the bill.

Great response by Izzo.

I would just add that if 8-year olds playing youth basketball all over the country can line up and behave like sportsmen, I would certainly think that grown men can do so. One would hope the lessons that we teach don’t make our children less mature as they grow older.

“Chosen lover” adds to the gag factor. IF they choose to raise children, they’ll pluck one away from another country and proceed to starve with an uncooked raw vegan diet.

Nor did grooms get there alone but..... no one "gives them away."

The bride and groom pointed out they disliked the idea that a woman is "given to a man" when the reality is they chose each other.

The point is it's their wedding. I've no idea if they paid for the ceremony or not as money isn't a big factor in their lives.

I bet those two are the life of the party.
