Juwan Mitchell transferring

Hubbs said a few things on the pod this morning that were very telling RE J Mitchell transferring

1. JM didn't always do the things the coaches asked of him
2. He expects there to be a lot less drama in the LB room this year

All i need to know. Sounds like he (and most likely Banks) were too busy sewing malcontent to do what was expected of them.

That's what alot of the guys in the portal are.
It might be kind of like it is with a job (you just have to find your fit) .. and sometimes your fit is family people or chill people, or not, or whatever it is that works for you /but you are right, it could also be you just don’t get along with anyone 😂

"sewing malcontent"? Using a needle or a machine? You're a stitch! The word is "sowing".....

Unfortunately his presence on the field was barely felt. Hope he finds a place to make an impact.

Yep, he was a good backup but never took that next step like Beasley. IMO, I had them bracketed as the same type of LB when the 2022 season started. As the season went Beasley trended up, Mitchell not bad but trended as a backup as the season transpired. I think he would either have to accept that or change it on the field or move on. He chose.

Just another example of the crap shoot the transfers and juco guys can be. Occasionally, you find a diamond in the rough. Other times you get a guy like Mitchell. No offense to him, but he's depth on most SEC rosters outside of Nashville.

man thank you for having the pocket presents to help! Having perfect grammar is a tough road to hold. Sometimes I find myself taking most posts with a grade of slaw, but this gesture by you will not go unnoticed.

I have a different tack on this one. I think he gave full effort and everything he had while he was here…it simply wasn’t very good. Burns that his failed arm tackle for a loss was on Stetson Bennett’s HEISMAN highlights when it turned into that go ahead TD and set the pace in the UGA game. There were several other duds throughout the season. Made more frustrating when the defensive highlight of the season was his interception return against Kentucky after Slaughter obliterated the receiver. Expected this after all the insider scuttlebutt, but silently feared he could come back and any snaps he took would be minus for some of the promising talent at linebacker.
Normally I agree with you but I’m going BS on this one. Go back and watch Carolina and tell me this guy is giving max effort. Rarely get angry over player effort but Mitchell pissed me off that game. Maybe he wasn’t healthy or something but there’s no way that was his best.

When he wasn’t unhealthy he compensated by not being very athletic or fundamentally sound. I can disagree with you without much conviction behind my opinion.

There's were few others that didn't generate much interest too. Whitehead, S. Herring, W. Parker and M. Campbell.

Overall, I think transfers being immediately eligible is a good thing for college sports. Coaches could come and go as they saw fit and so it makes sense for players to have the same kind of freedom. I do think a major downside is kids making rash decisions and losing their scholarship when there isn't a market for them. Mitchell may be one of those guys.

He never really was fully healthy and probably further down the depth chart than he wanted to be. Good luck to him - he came when we were a blazing dumpster fire so I hope he finds a good situation for the fall.

He had 43 tackles and the man in front of him left for the NFL.
It makes no sense what he did.

Austin Price new something about why, but on the surface it's a bad move by Mitchell.

i definitely wish he had stayed - he’s a good player.

IIRC, he left Texas bitter about some political issue or disagreement. It seems he may have trouble getting along with other people. He may not be able to find a landing spot.
