And Repubs are the racist onesI may not like Trump, but whether it was his staff or his own choice, the JD Vance selection is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A Pall Mall with a brownie wife. She will surely be a plus for drawing female voters in general, and brownies in particular.

Well, you know, Biden's VP is a Black woman with a White husband. Based on your post, that makes the racists one too, doesn't it?And Repubs are the racist ones
Maybe the other two turned him down. JD Vance fits Trump's agenda.I know it won't be a debate question.
I'm surprised Trump picked him
I can see why you like the choice.I have been a big fan of Vance ever since I read Hillbilly Elegy a long while back. It was written long before he entered politics and he basically explained why Trump resonated with so many Americans. Vance is an American success story. He literally worked his way out of poverty and did exactly everything we say a young man should do. He focused on his education; joined the Marines, went to college and then law school. Started his own businesses. And he has excelpat everything he has done. We conservatives like to say (rightfully) that hard work and character can help anyone improve their lives regardless of missing privileges or tough circumstances. With Vance, we have a person who hasn’t just said it; he has lived it.
I Just think they don’t know him. Another thing that impresses me is that he is the first Veteran to appear on any ticket since John McCain.I can see why you like the choice.
Any idea why so many on the R (R-ish) side seem to not like him?
Forgive me for pressing, but he can't be without issue. No one else has been able or willing to explain their beef with JD. So if you can, since you know of him pretty well, what do you think are the issues which turn people off from him?I Just think they don’t know him. Another thing that impresses me is that he is the first Veteran to appear on any ticket since John McCain.
For me, he is the first politician (except for Trump) who I knew about before they ran for any office. We say we want candidates who have lived a real life and had real jobs. Now we have one.
I honestly have no answer that explains it. Maybe they are just disappointed that their own favorite didn’t get the nod.Forgive me for pressing, but he can't be without issue. No one else has been able or willing to explain their beef with JD. So if you can, since you know of him pretty well, what do you think are the issues which turn people off from him?
Thinking more about the possible jealousy angle; I am realizing just how important this pick was to determining Trump‘s eventual successor. The party is United behind Trump, so the VP pick was basically an exercise in King making. The person Trump picked was automatically going to gain the inside track for the 2028 nomination. In a very real Sense, this was a primary by proxy. The people backing other candidates for VP just lost a big battle.Forgive me for pressing, but he can't be without issue. No one else has been able or willing to explain their beef with JD. So if you can, since you know of him pretty well, what do you think are the issues which turn people off from him?
I've been doing some reading up on him. Found this. He started a charity to help opiod victims, then immediately sold out to big pharma, and used the money to launch his political career.I can see why you like the choice.

obama was only a senator for two years in 2008... but unlike JDV he was a career activist/grifterI honestly have no answer that explains it. Maybe they are just disappointed that their own favorite didn’t get the nod.
They might feel that he is too young and has only held ANY office for a couple of years. Of course for me, lack of prior political activity is a bonus, not a liability.
Pence has principles. Vance doesn't.I got to say Vance gives me Pence vibes...I do not trust him. I hope I am wrong, but while I liked him the first time I heard him, he lost my trust quite awhile ago when he seemed to suck up to teh very worst RINOS of the Rpublican Party. I also feel like any VP should scare the other side enough to keep your main man safe..I dunno that he accomplishes that or could. I deffinately can see why Trump's enemies would find vance preferable. That's not a good situation.
I will say he'd mop the floor with Harris, but that's not much of an accolade. Anyone who can speak rationally and not laugh like a mule high on crack has her number.
He's going to fit right in
