Kara Lawson at the Lady Vol's Head Coach?

I couldn't stand her as a player - so much grit, hard-play, and knowledge of the game, but man, these days she is by far my favorite commentator/analyst in both Men's and Women's College Basketball. What a star and great story. I'm sure you guys are very proud of her and how she has represented your university.

Her knowledge and insight into the game along with a past of hard-nosed, smart basketball play makes her an incredibly attractive candidate.

I'm not familiar with her future goals, but has Kara ever mentioned a desire to coach? Seems like she would be a slam dunk hire and really have the ability to take UT back to its former self.

Anyone have any insight?

Sorry Rollervol was so rude to you . There's room here for all who love women's basketball.

As to Kara's future goals, I have not heard. But I do admire her analytical skills and no nonsense approach to commentary. She is a role model, and we TN folks are proud of her.

We have a coach. Now that I've said that, Kara would make a great coach. While she's young for a job like UT, she's found her voice over the years and many young recruits know her face and voice so she could be effective.

Tennessee as a regular in the Final Four is what is best for WCBB. I apologize if I offended Lady Vol fans, but I don't think Holly is the one to get you back there. I find Lawson so impressive and admirable. I was sincerely wondering if any attempt had been made or if you guys think Kara could be a potential candidate. Love me some Kara (just don't tell my UCONN friends :pinch: )...

Your opinion is noted and some here may actually care what you believe but not me. What type of reception did you think you would get when you start a thread in a Lady Vol forum basically saying our coach is not good enough in your opinion? Wait....don't answer that because you will make this post exist a lot longer than it should.

UConn fan you are welcome here....All of the petty arguing between our fan bases has to stop. It's so juvenile. Adults acting like children.

If Holly were to leave, Lawson would be as interesting candidate.

I've actually had a good reaction from Vol fans here. Like I said, Tennessee should be a perennial Final Four team. Like the Boneyard intolerance to level headed posting from opposing fanbases, it's disappointing to see your reaction here. :unsure:

I've read this board for a while and just recently decided to finally join. Again, I will state that I'm not trying to troll your fanbase. I can't wait to play the Lady Vols again in the Final Four. I simply think you can do much better than what Holly has done. As a premiere basketball program, you guys deserve better. I'm trying not to get banned and just provide some observation from a non-fan.

Well....you may have a point and I'm sure there will be many that are of the opinion of the OP....I'm just not one of them. I'm not arguing, dissing, being juvenile or trying to be rude...I am just disagreeing with his post and his opinion.

I am perfectly okay with dialogue. It's what makes sports forums so interesting. I was just wanting to know if Lawson was vetted or if you think she could become a future candidate.

Do you believe that coming on this forum and posting an opinion that our coach is not good enough is level-headed and a way to establish your credibility with the fan base here?

I will also add that I know I am an outsider here, but have been pleasantly surprised by the replies/commentary on this board. Hopefully one day you guys get the same reaction should you ever register at the Boneyard (I know it's a long-shot btw :p). All us UCONN fans are not extremists and some have a neutral self-awareness. We all love sports (specifically WBB), but dialogue is a great thing, and I'm happy to be here. I've felt more welcome than I initially thought. Cheers!

Given what I've read on this board, I do think it's okay. Like I said, I think the Lady Vols can do better.

Listen...When Calhoun retired, he hand-picked Ollie as his replacement. He was given a 6 month contract. I'm all about a legend choosing their replacement, but their replacement has to perform to the caliber of the program. Ollie has done so...Holly not so much.
