The case is about expanding double jeopardy to include instances where the federal or state government has already prosecuted an individual for specific crimes such that the other government then could not.

The conspiracy theory is that Trump would be able to pardon, for instance, Manafort from his federal crimes and the state would no longer be able to prosecute him because of double jeopardy.

The way I understand it is that the State crimes would be completely different charges than the Federal ones. Therefore not double jeopardy.
