Yep - and trying to poke holes in his credibility generally. They know that these accusations, at best, cannot be corroborated and at worse (particularly the Swetnick gang rape allegation) are totally fabricated.

To be fair, I'm sure he is understating how much of a party animal he was in high school. But that doesn't mean he sexually assaulted or raped anyone. However, he's downplaying it because this is all about credibility at this point, and he knows if it is establishment he was a party animal it makes him look bad.

I think all of those things would make it easier to go back and figure out when it was if you forgot, not necessarily easier to remember. I know this is a politically incorrect thing to say today, but if you were sexually assaulted or raped, and assuming it didn't happen to you when you were a child, I find it hard to believe that you could only narrow down the time it happened to "second or third year of high school." I really do think something happened to Ford, but I have doubts if she was sexually assaulted as described, and I have doubts that it was Kavanaugh.
