Kavanaugh Confirmation

Fell for what?
His POV didn't prevail therefore there's either a conspiracy or somebody must have gotten tricked because his default position is that everybody that sees things his way is more thoughtful and enlightened.

I really do want to know wtf he is talking about. Anyone with a modicum of common sense knew what a sham the entire hearing was; perpetrated entirely by the Democrat party. I certainly didn't 'fall' for anything there. You are right that his intellect is so obviously superior to mine and yours and all of us who vote for President of these United States Donald J Trump, but wrt the senate hearings on Judge Kavanaugh, I honestly have no idea what it was that I fell for.

You are getting close:

On Jan. 10, 1963, Congressman Albert S. Herlong Jr. of Florida read a list of 45 Communist goals into the Congressional Record.

Looks like you can put a checkmark beside goal number 17.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

Serious answer, I'm not sure what facts to believe. It was a long time ago and so I'm not sure we can ever feel like we are confident in knowing the accurate facts.

Unlike everyone else, however, I do not question the sincerity of either K or Ford. I think she genuinely believes it happened as she remembers it and I do not think she was put up to it by the Clintons, etc. On the other hand, I think K believes fully in his denials and is not hiding something.

To me, the Dems' demand for more inquiries etc is silly because its not going to help prove whether it happened or not. On the other hand, the GOP's claims that the Dems had this lady fabricate it I find equally absurd.

People hoping for a smoking gun were never going to get what they wanted. It annoys me when either side claims they found one because that is just not, and never was going to be, true.

I don't necessarily believe the Democrats initiated Ford's claim, but I do believe they weaponized her claim and purposely delayed bringing it forward in an attempt to delay and possibly derail Kavanaugh's confirmation. They took something that should have been brought before the committee immediately, hid it away, then brought it forth when it served their political purposes. And now they act like their only motive was truth when it's obvious if their motive was truth they would have acted in an aboveboard manner to begin with. All their "righteous anger" they are currently putting forth smacks of falsehood and political theater. It's disingenuous. They're trying to claim some kind of moral high road though the truth is the took the low road and acted in an underhanded, duplicitous fashion.

My husband, Rand Paul, and our family have suffered intimidation and threats

(CNN)An open letter to Senator Cory Booker:

It's nine o'clock at night, and as I watch out the window, a sheriff's car slowly drives past my home. I am grateful that they have offered to do extra patrols, as someone just posted our home address, and Rand's cell number, on the internet -- all part of a broader effort to intimidate and threaten Republican members of Congress and their families. I now keep a loaded gun by my bed. Our security systems have had to be expanded. I have never felt this way in my life.

Who cares? You crybabies need to move on, back to Russia lies now.

You and LG can’t be lawyers. If you are, you must suck and no one will hire you.
We need to keep the house, pick up a senate seat or two, RBG needs to be gone, Trump needs to nominate ACB, Mitch jams her down the libs throats and then I don't care what happens in 2020.

The bait. By one side or the other, that this was about something else. It didn't have to be that way. Both sides pushed an agenda on the back of the underlying dispute. Mostly just claiming the other side was being unfair.
Nice non answer.
Try again.
Your side was the one that brought these baseless charges forth after proclaiming before any hearings were ever held that they would do ANYTHING to fight this nomination. The Republicans bent over backward to bring the woman's testimony to light to ensure her comfort in doing so. YOUR side, DiFi, sat on the letter until politically 'advantageous' to bring it out. I fell for nothing pal. I saw the shenanigans for what they were. You're desperate. I can understand that, I am a VOL fan, but I don't blame Bama because we suck.

This confirmation started with Democrats constantly interrupting, protesting, bringing in screeching activists, walking out and breaching every sense of order. That was all before the infamous Ford letter was introduced.

To suggest that both sides are equal in blame for this $h!t show is disingenuous.

You are probably right, and I have no problem with someone voting no on him because they think he was untruthful about that in the hearing. It just isn't as important to me as the underlying accusation and I'm left not knowing with any degree of confidence what happened; certainly not to the point that I think I can say definitively that he is not qualified.

And of course I am fine with a no vote based solely on the fact that he is likely to rule in ways that hurt a progressive agenda, just as I am fine with people voting yes because they think he will promote a conservative one. That's the say the system works. If the Dems are unhappy about that they should have gotten off their lazy azzes and gotten more people to the polls.

I will say this. Given the upset result of the 2016 election I doubt they will make that mistake for some time to come.

I gave you a like because other than telling EL he was probably right, this is one of the most reasonable posts I've ever seen you make.
