Can you imagine if Clinton's would have been a lifetime appointment. The biggest difference is Clinton was looking at one more year out of eight and K is looking to ENTER a LIFETIME appointment.
There were 7 investigations and a senate inquiry. And Chucky and DiFi all but said that wasn't enough today in their presser.lets get this charade over with, what a joke. should have done an investigation from get go
Hopefully those 2000+ are so upset & distraught over this that they walk away from the profession in mass.900 female law school faculty professors sign letter opposing Kavanaugh
Last I heard the other law professor letter had ballooned to over 1200 signatures.
Mitch wouldn't allow it to go to a vote if he didn't have the numbers. It has been a done deal since last night.
I haven't liked how this was handled by the Left since the beginning. I've said it many times in this thread, but the timing reaked of political theater. Then the entire thing turned into a shitstorm and made everybody in DC look like idiots.
I saw nothing in the hearing that showed proof of anything. The FBI investigation turned up no proof of anything.
I'm not going to trash Kavanaugh or Ford. I don't care that he drank with Squii (epic nickname imo). But without corroborated proof, time to move on and vote.
I don't have anything personal against Kavanaugh. I disagree with his conservatism and am concerned how he will rule as a Justice. And even though I didn't care for the way he conducted himself during the hearing, I haven't seen one single thing that showed he was unprofessional during his time on the bench prior.
Frankly I'm tired of the circus. Just vote and let's move on, this entire charade has done more harm than good.
This isn't about Trump. He was honest.
So was George Bush.
Because they were honest about it, it gave them credibility when they said it was not an issue for them.
The reason Trump has no credibility is that he constantly lies about and tries to cover up his character flaws. He pays people, a lot, to hide them. He boasts about himself and lies about these shortcomings to the point of absurdity.
That's the difference.
Oooooh, that delayed "counselor" really added to your moral authority.
But not really.
Therefore, you should be on the side for confirmation. Reasonable doubt. Basic.Foundation. Of. America.Serious answer, I'm not sure what facts to believe. It was a long time ago and so I'm not sure we can ever feel like we are confident in knowing the accurate facts.
Unlike everyone else, however, I do not question the sincerity of either K or Ford. I think she genuinely believes it happened as she remembers it and I do not think she was put up to it by the Clintons, etc. On the other hand, I think K believes fully in his denials and is not hiding something.
To me, the Dems' demand for more inquiries etc is silly because its not going to help prove whether it happened or not. On the other hand, the GOP's claims that the Dems had this lady fabricate it I find equally absurd.
People hoping for a smoking gun were never going to get what they wanted. It annoys me when either side claims they found one because that is just not, and never was going to be, true.
