I disagree. The left CAN’T accept someone having their own beliefs that differ from theirs. Aside from fringe lunatics the right doesn’t care what color your skin is, who you have a relationship with, your gender, etc. The left can’t simply accept the right views of equality and want the right to pander to everyone that cries about being offended. Equality shouldn’t come with special rules in 2018 and just because someone doesn’t like you or your lifestyle is no need to cry and protest. The smartest thing the worst president in history ever said was “elections have consequences”.

No interest in probing her credibility. Congrats to WaPo for eliminating any doubt about their own credibility - no further probing necessary.

I've already condemned the Dems actions regarding Kavanaugh, but the GOP were wrong in their handling of Garland. Honestly, over the years, it seems like each party takes turns sinking lower and lower. If you want to argue that the Dems are currently the party that has sank lower, I agree, but give it time and the Republicans will respond in kind and the cycle will continue. Neither party is virtuous so I see no point in pretending they are.

I agree with this. TBH, both R's and D's are controlled by deep state elites, each manipulating the masses to attribute ulterior motives to the other side.

For sure, there are despicable people on both sides, and there are a hell of a lot of them everywhere. My wife was raped by her sister's then-husband who only got 2 years because he knew the judge. My wife's sister didn't talk to her for 4 years before she realized the guy was a complete jerk and divorced him. This trend of false accusations just to "empower women" piss me off to no end because it's obvious many of these high power cases are completely made up and real victims of sexual abuse (male and female) aren't looked at seriously. This is a trend that needs a quick and painful death.

There are 1000s in the media and in the general population that don't question the validity of Dr. Ford's account at all. That despite zero corroboration that there was even a party, not to mention a party in which both were present. Despite her own admission that she doesn't know how she got there, how she got home, where the party was, when the party was. Even her own witnesses say they don't have any memory of the event.

I ask all that believes this was appropriate, what if this was your dad, your son, your brother, what if they were in a similar situation, would you automatically believe the accuser? Assassinating a man's character over political differences is despicable. If the shoe was on the other foot I would be calling out the Republicans for the same stuff.

If I were a democrat I would be embarrassed at the underhanded scorched Earth politics of my party, same if it were a republican.

You're not wrong. See, it also goes the other way. I'm sure there are many on the right who never even considered that her allegations were true. Thought it was a smear campaign right off the bat. Confirmation bias works both ways.

Personally, I didn't find her testimony very convincing. That said, if the event did occur, there are only 3 people that would have been actual witnesses: Ford, Kavanaugh, and Judge. Many victims of sexual assault are so traumatized that they don't talk about it, even to friends and family. The event itself can also make an indelible mark on your memory, even when other details have long faded away.

There will always be questions about this, whether or not Kavanaugh is confirmed. If she made it up or if she's mistaken about the culprit, this truly sucks for Kavanaugh and his family. I can't imagine how terrible that would be. If she is telling the truth, and Kavanaugh was too drunk to recall, it truly sucks for her. I can't imagine how terrible that would be. Crappy situation either way.
