KC was the only person who came to play

What? We played small ball which is normally our bread and butter throughout the game vescovi only getting 5 points killed us

Come on, we didn’t play zone once in this game. They beat us with dribble drive. Vescovi only had had 5 points but passed up a lot of looks. We played tight. Only player on the floor for us with any hops today- Chandler.

Uros played well but we really needed vescovi to play better
Well sure. He picked a terrible time to have his worst game. Michigan knew how to defend him. Good on them. That was a preseason top-5 team for a reason. The talent wasn't an issue. For some reason, it didn't click for them, this year, but they put it all together, today. That is the exact type of team that we all believed would give us fits. Long and athletic with size in the paint. We can't shoot 2-18 from 3 and beat a team like that. I'm amazed that we were in it for as long as we were given the perimeter struggle. I'd have never guessed we'd hang around by scoring in the paint and in transition.

The turning point, for me, was JJJ not finishing that layup (shocker) when Dickinson fouled him. Contact was light, and he was shooting with his strong hand, but predictably couldn't complete the play. He then missed the 2nd FT, resulting in only one point for the possession. We were up 5, with a chance to go up by 8 by completing the old-fashioned 3-pt play, and really put the pressure on Michigan with 8:27 to play.

I thought our defense was nowhere close to normal. Michigan's best player Dickinson was often left wide open when our big guys went to help up high on Michigan guards. Do not understand why we continued to do this most of the game. I'm truly not just saying this because we lost, but I really think our defensive game plan was sub par. And also give Michigan credit. They often face guarded and covered Santiago like he's not been covered all year. I give the Michigan Coaches credit. I thought they were much better tonight. They had a much better game plan than we did.

This team needs a kill run, that's how they've been successful. They never had a huge run to just step on Michigans throat.

Up by 6 coming out from a timeout with the ball. We turned the ball over. Next 2 possessions Ziegler missed wide open 3s.

Had a chance to put game away and they did the opposite.

I thought guys were over the back on Fulkerson a few times late and they never called it.

Barnes’ teams have never been able to guard ball screens, especially when the screener can shoot.

KC was a stud. Overall I thought we played well but just didn’t make perimeter shots, some of which were wide open. It happens. Defensively we didn’t really make an impact on Michigan and I don’t think we made any adjustments which was puzzling. As bad as we shot the 3, we still could have won with some stops and if we had blocked out on two huge offensive rebounds that Michigan got late. Mentally they were just tougher than us and made plays and we didn’t. I really liked this years squad and they really turned it around after that loss against Texas. But it wasn’t as if we hadn’t experienced offensive lulls the entire year. We got away with it often because our defense was stellar but we couldn’t stop Michigan.

Look forward to next year. We need someone like Phillips or somebody who can create their own shot with KC likely gone. I think our frontcourt will improve, and we will have good leadership with Vescovi and James. I believe in Zeigler at PG as well but he is going to need to develop a floater.

As the game went on and remained close, the players other than Chandler tightened up. There was hesitation on their shots. James in particular was shooting a very flat shot. Vescovi could’t even get a shot up. Someone besides Chandler needed to step up and play with some confidence, but no one did.

I thought the same thing. We kinda panicked a little.

Plavsic with 9 points and 9 boards…….he certainly came to play.

James, 13 points, 6 boards, 3 assists 2 steals and a block…..he also came to play.

Michigan had a great game plan……take Vescovi out as much as possible and take your chances elsewhere. Tennessee just got beat.

Uros had a great game. James a good first half.

We weren’t getting good looks from 3, and probably didn’t go down low as much as we should have.

The D got abused.

I thought Uros was doing well, but I don't think he played in the last 8 minutes of the game. I don't recall Aidoo playing any but at early in the first half.

Nah he needs to go pro, I thank him for why he’s done here. But why come back if can go in 1st round?
He played like a top 10 pick IMO. The way he progressed and just got better and better through the season shows his mental toughness and work ethic. He’s going to play ball for a long time at the next level.

JJJ scored like 8 of the first 10. Then Michigan adjusted and denied him the ball like they did Vescovi. KC had the lane open after than and he scored at Will. Then Michigan moved their big forward in to stop that. Tennessee had 3 playing vs 2 basically and lost.

They all came to play. Just because you struggled offensively doesn’t mean you didn’t come to play. Effort was not lacking.
We shoot 2 - 18 from 3 and if not for a lucky running no-look hook shot as the shot clock was expiring we probably win the game.
