Keenan Pili out for the season

Hate that for Pili. Very much a leader, as mentioned in the presser "the green dot guy" who had the radio receiver for the D. Someone is going to have to step up and hopefully Pili will be able to mentor them in leading the defense.

I also noticed in the press conference that when asked about the O Line, Josh said "we need 5 guys to act as one. Sometimes it's been only 4...." and not one of the reporters pressed him on that to call out who the 1 is, likely Heard, who isn't giving enough effort. Lousy journalism.

Well that isn't great. Dude was a baller this year. Seems like a great kid too.

I suppose he could apply for a Medical red shirt, but I would doubt it gets granted. He probably needs to try his hand in the NFL anyways and try to make some real money.

He used the medical waiver a year ago. He was injured in his first game and missed the rest of the season.

Who is our proven depth? Carter and Kelly? Hoping for a speedy recovery for Pili!

Players can apply for multiple medical redshirts. They don't often get granted. But I assume he has played too many games this year to qualify.

Jeremiah Telander is his backup and we are very lucky to have such a talented "backup". Leadership we lose a lot but from pure talent, not as much as you might think

We don’t have much depth at middle linebacker now, but prior to this injury it was an embarrassment of riches in the two-deep. Telander is 100% a starter-quality player. The future is now for him and Carter to be the dynamic duo we thought they’d eventually become.

The limit is 30% of scheduled games. So 30% x 12 is 3.6. They round up so players can participate in up to 4 games. And the games have to be in the first half of the season.

Man, I hate to hear that, especially after what he went through last season. Thanks for all your efforts, Keenan! You can still contribute by motivating the D from the sidelines.

Well, this is what happens in football, so next man up! Another reason why having good depth is so important.

ACL injury per coach's press conference this morning. Heart broken for this man. He had a game changing contribution to this team for the first 6 games of the season, especially Oklahoma and Florida.

I disagree in that Telander is a student of the game and knows the game unlike a lot because he’s a coach’s son. He knows the role and will adapt very well. We lose depth, but we don’t lose a lot in the leadership perspective.
