When the player is giving the effort we've seen from Heard, he's already laying down in front of the bus. For the coach to even say something like, "we've got to defend the edges better" or something that points fingers at performances as weak as we've seen.So you want the coach to publicly throw players under the bus? That is a sure fire way to make kids want to play at UT.
There’s a reason Pili was the starter. His backup though is extremely good. Carter will probably inherit the responsibilities of getting everyone aligned going forwards. When you said we lose ”a lot” in leadership, I disagree. No one person is the heart and soul of anything. Each man is extremely important, and personally I bet you know very little of Telander’s capabilities. Maybe you’ve watched all his practices and know him personally. I don’t know. When you lose an experienced player, you always mourn that loss of leadership, but Telander is a dog, and a very smart, crafty dog. I just disagree with your statement that we lose a “lot of leadership.” Agree to disagree. Depth hurts, but leadership, nah.
You know it sucks but sometimes things happen for a reason. There are millions to be made even if they’re not on the playing field. Idk if he has any interest in coaching going forwards but again there’s money to be made while sparing your body from wear and tear of the league. This really sucks. I know his wife and they were really hoping he made it big and got drafted. I hope he makes it somehow to the nfl.
ACL injury per coach's press conference this morning. Heart broken for this man. He had a game changing contribution to this team for the first 6 games of the season, especially Oklahoma and Florida.
