Tough Job for Kellie. Much harder to recruit especially with limited funds. But she does her best in these type of jobs with little expectations. She will need to load up on easy W's SEC will be tough going. I believe she will take a few of our players who didn't get many minutes and they want to play. In CHRIST Alone

I've spent a lot of time in Columbia over the years and it's not Eastern Tennessee not matter what you say. And many times more liberal....If you don't know the difference between Southern Mo and more northern Mo....then I can't help you. Coach Harper can however get all the cannabis she wants there in the stores around CoMo.

You ever see the Cards play at Sportsman Park/Busch I?

A coach has got to coach. I bet that aside from family, she feels most alive when she is in the gym with her team, and this is a place where she can do her thing wout the sword of damocles hanging over her head for every loss or misstep. I love the Lady Vols, but what a pressure cooker to live in as the coach here. Missouri, not so much. Will probably be refreshing to her. I hope she loves it and finds success!

I am proud that Kelli is getting another bite of the D1 apple. The pressure and expectations will not be the same as D1 schools like North Carolina State and Tennessee. I believe she will be successful in this environment. If she can repeat what she did at Tennessee, she will be greatly appreciated by Missouri fans. The prior coach mainly recruited South Missouri and the St. Louis area and Illinois. I hope Kelli learned from her time at two D1 schools that she needs a good recruiter on staff and she as the head coach have to seal the deal.

Several candidates asked about NIL and the support Mizzou women’s hoops would get and were turned off by the answers they got, so this is a real head scratcher to me as to why she would do this, but best of luck to Kellie!
Same as here previously on NIL. Glad she got another chance and hope she does well. Super nice person.

I live in Missouri and I can tell you that CoMo is a topical college town as well as Springfield. Both towns are no different than Knoxville. I actually love all three towns.

Kelli will have problems getting a lot of NIL support in CoMo. I can’t see them putting out money to bring in top recruits. Missouri just does not seem to be big on women’s sports.

Pretty crazy Kellie at 47 has already been a head coach for 20 seasons(was an assistant for 5 years before head coach)and already has close to 400 wins. She has been around basketball basically her entire life. I will be rooting for her, except when she plays the Lady Vols.
Very likeable ! Watched her play in highschool, college she was likable even though she didn't play for my highschool. I hope she wins every game she coaches Except when she plays the Lady VOLS.

We all loved Kellie and we all hoped she learned things during her coaching journey. But the fact is she didn't get it done at the most prestigious Women's Name. Lady Vols. Holly left her talent and for some reason she wouldn't or couldn't recruit at the level Lady Vols Program demands. Yes Demands. You have to Recruit at Elite Level. Yes she did get Jackson that kept her afloat out of Portal but in the end was not getting job done and the money boosters said enough. If we keep her were not throwing good money no more to Program. Big Thanks to Coach Harper true LVFL. Good luck at Mizz because you are going to need it. In CHRIST Alone

Kind of echo everyone's best wishes to KH for success in COMO. But I don't understand Mizzou's thinking here. If she couldnt make it in Raleigh and Knox how is she going to make it in COMO?

Know what? If she struggles with NIL again its her fault. Cannot imagine her taking another job without firm NIL backing. If she does, she deserves the mediocrity shes about to get.
The difference is that Missouri is not expecting her to sign multiple five star prospects every year. Tennessee did. You don’t have to have the ability to throw a six figure offer or match a six figure offer to keep a committed recruit at Missouri. She did at Tennessee. It’s not the whole reason she didn’t win big here, but it’s certainly part of the story.

Missouri’s expectations are to go to the NCAA tournament more often than not. If she advances to the round of 32 or even the sweet 16 a couple of times, she will be able to coach there until she is ready to retire.

Interested to see if Jon is a part of her staff, he had told people in basketball circles that he didn’t have a lot of interest in getting back in, even if she did. But, he had a lot of of the recruiting relationships with the AAU programs and high school coaches in the state of Missouri when they were there the first time, so I think he would definitely be valuable more so in that job than perhaps any other they would have taken other than Auburn.
