Kentucky and Indiana series is ending. (Disagreement on location)

Ky wants easier early schedule to work kinks out of all their freshmen classes before getting into conference play. Calipari said he wants to have a perfect season. And losses early like the Indiana one ruined that. Calipari is that guy that puts in video game on varsity and rookie and thinks he is awesome for winning a championship.

I think he deserves to dream a little.

I heard they were pushing for a move to the SEC West so they only had to play UK 1x a year....

Awww..Aint you cute.

because I heard pushing for a move to the SEC West was pointless since they did away with East / West starting this year. Nice try cupcake :)

Would UofL stop them from using the Yum Center? I heard it's a pretty good arena.

I'm surprised it's so easy for UK to take all of these big home games away from their season-ticket holders. I assume they're going to be signing with new opponents. I guess UK fans will pay to see anything.

UofL won't allow them to play in their new arena therefore it would be played in their old arena, Freedom Hall, I believe.

Partially correct. Quite true that UK has to play in Freedom Hall.

UofL is a tenant in the Yum! Center as opposed to the owner. They have a lease in effect until 2044. The issue is that U of L negotiated such an incredible deal with the Yum! Center, that it stipulates that they have exclusive use of that building the day before, the day of, and the day after a game. You do the math, but that leaves very little time for outside events such as concerts, other sporting events, or shows.

Recently articles came out that say that the Yum! Center is in serious financial trouble, which may lead to local bonding issues. U of L's contract is so binding, and they get such a big cut of the revenue (Including 88% of luxury suite income, including NON-UNIVERSITY events), that the Yum! Center isn't making enough money to keep the lights on. I predict that in short order there will be a new lease contract negotiated if the Cawdinals want to be able to play in there with lights and heat.

The arena was built with the hope to attract an NBA team to Louisville, but UL's AD is a very shrewd guy, and got a hell of a contract with the Yum Center...so much so that it's causing the new arena to go belly up, potentially at the cost of taxpayers.

Interesting. Is there any chance of an NBA team moving to Louisville? Would be nice to rekindle an old ABA rivalry between Pacers and Colonels.

It would be GREAT for Kentucky, but I don't think that Ricky P is willing to share the spotlight.

I'm sure Ky fans would never find the cartoonist's home address and phone number and post it on a message board. Then I'm sure the message board moderators wouldn't just leave the post up for all to see. Nah, never.

For the Ky fans on here that wonder why people think Ky fans are borderline insane and even their board moderators walk on the lunatic fringe, I don't think much more needs to be said.
