If the new commish backs up his talk with action and changes the nba rule to 2 years, calipari has another 3 or 4 years at UK. If not, he's gone by tip off in November 2015.
Personally, I'm not attached to him. My only concern is that he has made what was already one of the toughest jobs in sports into an almost impossible one (expectations). Following him at UK will be a scary thought for any coach. And I dread falling back into a billy margarita Gillespie stupor.
Nonsense...if Kentucky comes calling, Smart will listen.
If UK offers Smart he'd be a fool to turn it down.
ucla came calling turned them down. Pat Dooley had a great piece on Smart about the agreement he made with his wife. Part of the reason he signed that long term deal bc of it. Not everyone dreams to coach at Ky.

The UCLA job is at best the PAC-12's 2nd best coaching gig. UK is on a different planet.
I agree his wife may have significant influence, but I would be surprised, if not shocked is Smart turns down UK's advances without so much as finding out what he's worth.
 ok you right no coach can tell the mighty Ky no.
