Kentucky Basketball

Arkansas has won 4 of the last 5. Even with 4 of those on the road it's unacceptable.

Bad news for UT as well.

Anderson has been beating Calipari since his UAB teams were beating Memphis. He also upset Memphis in the NCAAs while at Missouri.

If the new commish backs up his talk with action and changes the nba rule to 2 years, calipari has another 3 or 4 years at UK. If not, he's gone by tip off in November 2015.

Personally, I'm not attached to him. My only concern is that he has made what was already one of the toughest jobs in sports into an almost impossible one (expectations). Following him at UK will be a scary thought for any coach. And I dread falling back into a billy margarita Gillespie stupor.

Speaking of having someone's number, Gillispie (and Kevin O'Neill) had Bruce's number.

Shaka Smart will be the next coach if it's 2015.

Nonsense...if Kentucky comes calling, Smart will listen.

If UK offers Smart he'd be a fool to turn it down.

ucla came calling turned them down. Pat Dooley had a great piece on Smart about the agreement he made with his wife. Part of the reason he signed that long term deal bc of it. Not everyone dreams to coach at Ky.

The UCLA job is at best the PAC-12's 2nd best coaching gig. UK is on a different planet.

I agree his wife may have significant influence, but I would be surprised, if not shocked is Smart turns down UK's advances without so much as finding out what he's worth.

I tend to agree for the most part but imo UCLA is a top 10 college job. Same history as Ky minus Nike, LBj and WWW. IIRC Bruins were willing to pony up 3.5-5 mil depending on news outlet. Hopefully he stays until Billy steps down then returns to Gville.

Helen Keller could read this post and understand it better than you just did.

I never said a coach couldn't turn UK down. I basically just called you out for being uneducated on the subject of program history and lacking in general knowledge.

Is this the most disappointing season in UK basketball history?

I know several of the UK fans I work with were convinced this team had 2011-2012 written all over it.
