Kentucky Game Total Embarrassment

Didn't play her well enough but Dye cancelled her out. The loss came because of all the other players making several open threes. We didn't extend the defense and I really have no answer why. SC is extending way out and Kentucky is 1 of 6 from three all have been contested except the one they made.

Yeah, wasted a great game from Dye. It was not the LVs best defensive effort. I did find that disappointing, even with a lot of questionable calls. When you get down to the nitty gritty, the LVs fought back to 2 or 3 points but just could never make the shot to get the tie of the lead. KY's 3 point shooting was huge but the LVs shot themselves in the foot with several TO's that directly led to transition buckets for KY. Hopefully, we get back Jordan back for the NCAA's and can have a reset.

Kentucky is playing awesome basketball looks like we played better than we were given credit for with our limited roster.

The Kentucky game was a total embarrassments as the Lady Vols were both out coached and out played. The only good number from the game was 13 turnovers which is exceptionally low for this team. They were behind by 9 points at the start of the game and could have ended up losing by 12 points instead of 10. Key was absolutely no factor in the last two games sitting on the bench with 2 fouls in the first half. Although the Lady Vols beat Kentucky badly in the previous game, it appears that they took this one as an easy win to be. The Kentucky coach Elzy had her team prepared and totally embarrassed the Lady Vols in the results.
I totally disagree. Number one the Wildcats had just gotten over the injury bug, except one player. They had Edwards and Howard, one of the best women basketball players in the country. We did not have our best player on the floor, Burrell is still recovering from her injury, and Green is lost for the season. Yet at one point we had four freshmen on the floor holding down the fort and they held up. We saw Striplin show that she is ready to challenge in the post position. Dye played her best game since being a Lady Vol and Burrell also played her best game. On paper our team was out gunned and could have easily folded their tent but they did not. Our ladies did not run or lay down they fought and clawed their way back into contention. Instead of castigating and low rating them you should be proud that they did not give in and they did not give up. A lot of us are disappointed in the outcome but trying to throwing these ladies under the bus is unnecessary and uncalled for.

Jordy would have completed the comeback.

I am a little torn here because I want Kyra to be sufficiently successful as head coach but she could have rested with the LSU win :).

The LVs did not play that well as a team. Not having Jordan hurts them not just on offense but on defense and the boards. But, other players have to close the gap (to some extent). They did pretty well for the last 3 quarters of the LSU game and against Bama. In this game, they gave up too many 2nd and 3rd shot opportunities. They got out hustled by KY on many possessions, which is not something you can say after the LSU game. Jordan Walker had one of her worst games in a long time. Dye was great; Rae was solid; Brooklyn Miles player well. After that, it was all spotty.

But, if the LVs can win their first 2 games in the tournament, this off night quickly becomes a distant memory.

Just a sad reminder that we lost to many key players. Everyone being healthy all season every game this could've been us.

I'm sure the SC fans are shocked they took on the attitude that they were invincible in the SEC. I usually don't cheer for any team to lose unless they are playing us, but their attitude all season this is some welcome payback for them to be a little more humble because basketball can be an humbling game.

I have no power to delete it or it would've been gone long ago and several other would joint it's loss.

I am super impressed by the run Kentucky has gone on. I thought the LSU win was a lightning strike moment. I did not expect their hot outside shooting to carry over to the semifinal game, and now overcoming a sizeable 4th quarter deficit to beat SC. Hats off to Kyra and her team.

Are guards are just not playing at level we need. Horston was only guard who can be counted on, more bad passes, late or miss gets to Key cost her 2 fouls. There is no excuse for constantly having to call someone to throw in the ball, this late in season, and too many trips when no shooter, got a decent touch, Darby, Key, Dye, Rae and no good looks. Too much standing around, worried about saving the enviable, guard getting trapped. Guard dribbling right up into 3 players in the key, and can't, see, find, or pass to any of the 4 on two players. Really upsetting to see us so confused, and unable to guard the 3, or execute a offense. Miles is a future star, she should have been starting mid season
Wow. You managed to sum up maybe 5% of the game.

I really like Kellie as our coach, but her kids have 3 straight games in a row and then they just show up against a lesser team looking like zombies. Sorry, but that is a lack of coaching. I think that the Lady Vols are going to be loaded next year. I hope Kellie can learn to push her kid's buttons as Pat could.

Uh, that lesser team just beat the #1 team in the country to win the SEC title.

I can’t agree. Howard loafs most of the season and then turns it on in the tournament. I would take any Lady Vol over Howard any day as our players go all out for every game. If I’m a WNBA team, I’m not taking Howard until round two. She’ll get cut from the WNBA in a second if she plays the same way she has in college. Selfish.

She will be in the top three picks for sure and maybe the top pick.

Two inconvenient facts...

As winners of their last 10 games and the SEC Tourney some will say that Kentucky is more deserving of a Top Four seed than the Lady Vols. Clearly, they might be a tougher out right now.

Kyra wins the SEC Tourney in only her second year as coach. And she would have loved to head coach at Tennessee.
