Kentucky Game Weather

35% chance of showers, wind should not be a factor-temperature great for fall football, so are we better in the dry or on a wet field. Our secondary is struggling as it is...I was taught that offense had the advantage on a wet field. Your thought? Go Vols! Beat Kentucky@

I dont think any team in the country can slow down our offense but the weather might be able to. Rain favors the defense. Ball is slippery and harder to catch also could lead to some turnovers which always helps underdogs. We would have to depend on our running game which is a good unit but taking away the deep shots in the passing game and the chunk plays hurts. That's Kentucky's best hope, pray it pours and it's a defensive battle.

Rain, unless it's a monsoon, won't slow a good passing game down a bit. In fact, it often helps since the receiver knows exactly how he's going to cut. A big wind could be an issue.

35% is really a non existent %, could be any time of the day, as well as anywhere in the area. it only means 35% of the greater Knoxville area COULD see rain, and in a 24 hour period, so it could rain at 2am for all we know.

I'm not sure where you guys are seeing a 60%+ chance of rain Saturday. Maybe that's 'at some point during the day'?

Because here's what google gives me:

Between 7pm and 10 pm, that's bouncing around between 10% and 25% chance of rain.

Which mean, "probably not raining."

Temps in the 60s, winds negligible (3 to 4 mph), and slight chance of rain?

Pfffft.

Vols by fiddy.

Go Vols!

Gloves are so advanced these days unless its a torrential downpour, don't expect it to hamper the passing game much.

Good luck with any weather forecast. Five days before the Bama game, forecasters said highs in mid 60s and lows in mid 40s. I was ecstatic. Two days later, same forecaster said highs in mid 70s and lows in mid 50s. My rule of thumb is to never truly believe any forecast more than 24 hours out.

RIGHT. Momma Nature doesn't give a pig toody what humans, think, presume, or say about weather. She does what she wants, and when she wants.
