Kentucky lost again

Dan Hurley would be very dumb to take the Kentucky job, IMO. But who really knows. I’m sure Kentucky can pay better, so I guess if his ambition is just to make more money than maybe he’ll entertain it. But, UConn is another blue blood and in a more manageable conference. It would be a huge risk to move from the Big East to the SEC, especially with the conference expanding.
UConn to UK is a lateral move at best. Arguably a step down. Five championships in the past 25 years to UKs one. UK loves to boast about their titles in 48, 49, 51 and 58, but it's a disgrace to even call that basketball. No shot clock made the game pretty much keep away. No 3 point lines, and the guys were garbage compared to modern basketball. Looks like watching a YMCA rec game.

UK is definitely not a step down from UConn, but it isn't like it is some step up either. Hurley would be dumb to leave UConn and take that job.

He's a great coach, but UConn also seems to have a LSU football thing going on where it doesn't matter who the coach is - they're always good. Or maybe they're good at hiring coaches. Calhoun is a tough act to follow but each guy they hired after him has won a title.

I don’t think Kentucky would go after Pearl. He’s already 63. I think they would want to go younger. Tommy Llloyd just signed a massive contract extension and has it made at Arizona. Not sure why he’d leave to go to Kentucky other than ego. Which he doesn’t seem to have.

I could see Nate Oats jumping at the offer. But Alabama could match any monetary offer UK makes, so it would have to be just because of the name of Kentucky. Scott Drew probably makes the most sense.
Seems like Oats would be top of their list. I really hope that doesn’t happen. He would probably do very big things there.

Just as a racehorse can become strained and needs sufficient time to recover from a rigorous workout - especially after a grueling race season- such goes a star pitcher’s arm heading into the baseball final pennant race at summer’s end.

In this light, this thread, for its own good— to be able to perform at its optimal full strength heading into the next weeks and the tournaments—needs a period of recovery.

Just for today, for the sake of the health of this very thread, it needs a few days off.

Ky is absolutely a step down from UConn, Kansas and Duke in today’s basketball world, 20 years ago it was different. Is what it is. They can thank the worst floor coach, Cal, for this.

Go back and watch the 3 foul calls on Reeves that took him out of the game early in the 2nd half. The first two were outrageous, the third was at least somewhat questionable. Overall the refs didn't bother me last night, but the fouls on Reeves were hilariously bad.

Same type of crying as UT fans did after the Purdue, Kansas, UNC, etc game. You see a FT discrepancy and want to use it as an excuse, when in reality your team (I'm talking about UK here) is just soft.

HUGE difference in 3 top 10 teams and LSU though lol that ft discrepancy was because of their centers not because of anything else imo. No excuses here. You gotta beat LSU with or without your normal ref help.

What part of my post did you find ironic?
KY fans complaining about officiating is the irony.
Blueboys created the " home cooking" concept in Rupp and have been the benefactors for years.
There are fans on the Wildcat Forums proclaiming the referees have been against KY for years. " It's us against the world" attitude. Puleeze
Irony 😆

They don't call them Rupperees for nothing!

Ok, you being a Ky fan on the Volunteer forum trying to explain why Cals teams continue to under perform is ironic.
So you're boy got shafted by the Zebras.. Welcome to every other teams world.
Kentucky is not special, you're teams not supposed to get more favorable calls.

What part of "Overall the refs didn't bother me last night" sounds like me complaining about the refs?

If you want to cry about uk fans talking about unfair refs go ahead. But don't include me.

And it's your boy, not you're boy. Bozo
