I see the players are about as humble as the fans.

No way.

Sure, Kobe in his prime might could hang, Lebron right now, Shaq, but no 17 year old that ever existed is beating Michael Jeffrey Jordan in his prime at a game of 1v1.

SINCE his prime in the 90's players?

I'd add Tim Duncan to that list obviously. I don't think he'd win, but I don't think jordan could stop an in his prime duncan defensively. It'd be a whoever misses the most more than anything.

but, putting jordan up against centers and power forwards is a bit dirty really. Michael couldn't stop a quality 7 footer by himself on offense obviously.

You still have to take the ball from out top, so unless they are literally gonna back him down from 23 feet then good luck as a big man keeping him from picking your pocket.

Even still I think I have seen Jordan rob more guys that were posting up than any other player.

I agree though it is still not fair to compare him with centers in 1v1 (if it existed in the olympics I imagine there would be height classes)

Gotta love that UK arrogance. :lolabove:

Pretty much, yes. They would back him down from the three point line. I've seen it in almost all levels of play, even point guards backing down other great defenders to get into the offense better. Its slow, boring, and sometimes not effective, but one on one its pretty much the only chance a big guy has.

But it's 3 for the Cards and 3 for the Cats since the 80's

...ignoring the fact that if you go 2 years beyond the 80s, we won one in '78.

You can twist just about any statistic in your favor.

I"m sure Lawrence Wright appreciates you for proving his point.

McCat's point was valid...you can definitely use dates to prop up your argument.

I just find it laughable UK fans need a t-shirt as a coping mechanism because their in-state rival had the nerve to win a national title.

Then again we've all come to expect a certain level of self-importance from UK's fan base.

Has there ever been any conflict like that with UF, Florida State and Miami?

Of course there's conflict between in-state rivals in Florida. I still have a "Look Who's Crying Now" shirt from our 52-20 national title win against FSU. And my uncle who graduated from FSU still proudly wears his "Choke at Doak" shirt from that 31-31 tie in 1994.

That UK t-shirt is akin to a Miami fan wearing a t-shirt dissing UF's last national title simply because Miami has two more than we do....completely different imo.

The gap between UK and Louisville is wider historically than UF-FSU-Miami, and no one questions it. Yet UK still needs that coping mechanism, one year removed from their last national title.

Im surprised this thread isnt 3 pages of UK trolls agreeing that these kids could beat MJ with one hand tied behind their back.

The UK posters here are cool.

The idiots over at Rupps Rafters are probably buying up those t-shirts like hotcakes.

Can we all just agree making those t-shirts were stupid and be done with it?

Bingo. Which is why I wouldn't have a difficult time coming up with a list of 20 players that could beat him one-on-one.
