A win over Vandy and it begins... Call in shows are being flooded here in Central KY with calls from Cat fans predicting KY will win the SEC East. :lolabove: :post-4-1090547912:

Either way 1 loss doesnt suggest mediocrity

In terms of top 25 teams it could. If Tennessee had played their schedule to this point they would be undefeated. If Vandy had played Tennessee's schedule they would have lost to Texas too and probably WV, Gonzaga, Ole Miss and Xavier too. They could easily have 5 loses had they played UT's schedule. Ask Georgia if they thought Hawai'i was mediocre and they were undefeated.

Those UK people are ridiculous. I hate it that they won, because there is nothing I like more than watching the Cats lose. Vandy looked bad today, every team is going to have a bad game or 2. But to come out and say they are going to win after that mediocre win is just them reaching because they have had nothing to be happy about all year, UK will not win the east! When they play us it is gonna be a rout. Cant wait till we go to Rupp and rub there nose into the ground.

The two best teams in the SEC right now are UT and Ole Miss. Tennessee got by the Rebels already so I would put Florida as their next toughest SEC game.

Radio host just announced this is KY's first win over a ranked opponent since the 2005 - 2006 season. I have no idea if he's correct. He claims that game was played 03-01-06. UK@UT UK won 80 - 78. UT ranked #11.

Good point i just took a look at the Vandy schedule ill give you that they have played no one... Im gonna wait until we play them which according to their schedule is next and depending on their performance ill get back to you on whether they are mediocre or not

well Vandy is a solid tourney team but they are no top 15 team by no stretch of the imagination and Kentucky had home court advantage and Vandy probably played one of their worst games of the season as far as execution in the first half..

they really did outplay kentucky towards the end of the game with an exception of the final minute or so in the 2 OT, but it wasnt enough because they played poorly in the beginning of the game falling behind by as many as 16 points

Uk did not close Vandy out in this game even though they won, and if their fans believe that they are going to win the east then they will have to be able to close out mediocre teams such as Vandy, there is absolutely no way UK will beat UT with our depth, talent and toughness, and if they do i will jump off of a 10 inch cliff..

Just a little comparison, but if Vandy and UK had played UT's schedule up to now it would look something like this..

Vandy(7-7) UK (4-10)
Temple - W L
Monticello - W W
PV A&M - W W
MTSU - W W
WVU - L L
Texas - L L
A&T - W W
L-L - W L
Chatt - W L
WKU - L L
UNC-Asheville - L L
Xavier - L L
Gonzaga - L L
Ole Miss - L L

Please, nobody use this phrase anymore. I was at the UNC-NC State game today and saw some State students with red T-shirts on that had that phrase on the back. We can do better.

You gotta love UK fans after the win they are giving me comments like this on a local board:

"I've seen plenty of good SEC basketball coaches lose to UK year in and year out. Billy Donovan couldn't beat UK until Tubby's recruiting got really bad. UK beat Nolan Richardson's teams most of the time. Bruce Pearl is only .500 against UK in UK down years. If we were seeing typical UK, he'd be sitting at .000 against UK.

Bruce Pearl is only climbing the ladder. He wants to be coaching at a traditional powerhouse school or coaching millionaires. I don't expect to see him wearing orange more than 3 more years.

You are just HOPING UK won't be back on top any time soon. You will be sorely disappointed. Kentucky is Kentucky. They won't be where they are long."

UK will not beat Florida, will lose to vandy in N'ville, will lose to UT in 2 blowouts, etc. They aren't winning anything and will be lucky to make the NIT.
