Is there any wonder why we have 20 something's today that can't cope in the world? Mommy and daddy have shielded them from any form of disappointment, injury or consequences their entire lives. Then boom, reality slaps them in the face and they have no idea how to handle it.

That article is from 2007. The principal who instituted that crap is no longer there. I hope he is gone because the parents ran him off.

after reading enough comments I figured I'd go back to the OP to see if maybe this was on a new satire site that y'all didn't know about yet

...nytimes...

This isn't mommy and daddy shielding them, it's some liberal ninny principal.

And people wonder why private schools are busting at the seams and new ones are popping up everywhere. That's why most liberals are against school vouchers. It diminishes their sphere of influence.

I broke the **** out of my arm playing two-hand touch football in 7th grade during recess. Both bones were sticking out of my arm.

My daughter goes to Pond Gap and apparently they told the kids that at recess they can't throw grass on each other. Grass. The stuff they run on and roll around in. In the cafeteria they can't trade or give away food. Trading food to another student is against school policy people.

Just curious, but what is the penalty for throwing grass or trading food?

Zero tolerance.

Kickball is for girls and wusses. We should be teaching our kids the money sports.

Though I feel a little dumb for not realizing the article was almost a decade old, it doesn't really change the way I feel about it.
