Until this year, I figured Laney boy would emerge at a rogue Junior College. He burned too many bridges to be taken seriously. Yet somehow he resurfaces running the (record setting) offense for the top team in the nation. Barring injury to Cooper, this team can score with anyone. And with their usual defensive prowess, Bama appears to be the favorite to take home another trophy.

Will Lane cash out after one season? I think he will, as I don't think his ego would mesh wish Saban's long term. Since Florida is expected to hire a head coach with an offensive background, would they roll the dice with him? I think we can assume his dad is retired after getting fired 2 years in a row. But would Lane bring in Orgeron for a quick rebuild?

he's still the dumbass USC wouldnt let on the plane ride home 1 year at bama doesnt change that

**** i could look like a decent coach with 5 stars stacked on top of 5 stars

those last 2 OC's won a national title too remember? it didnt bankroll them into a big time job

If Lame did his job he wouldn't have been fired at the airport in El Paso after a 6-7 GT team beat his USC team 16-7 in the Sun Bowl.

Dave you have an amazing ability to bring up Georgia Tech in about every one of your post. Congrats on the W yesterday.

Lol at all the people belittling Kiffin's success because he has quality players. Isn't that exactly the excuse made for Butch's inability to win big right now? He needs talented players?

The ones that need to get over Kiffin are the ones blinded by their hatred for him.

I think Kiffen is a great play caller and offensive schemer.

I think he is a dick for leaving us in the middle of the night.

I think he sucks as a head coach because he can't manage a team and all that's involved.

But, with control freak Satin running the show, he makes a great X's and O's coach.

Why?? He was terrible with the Raiders, he was .500 in his only season at UT and he had many rule violations and he had every resouurce in the world at USC and he failed there. He's a great coordinator but he's just not a head coach. If i'm an AD he's the last guy I go after.

He was 7-5 before the bowl and 2 blocked FG's from being 8-4 and ending Bama's season.

At USC he had every resource except a full team. His team was full of 4-5* but was barely 2 deep. He acknowledged USC did very little full contact practices cause they couldn't risk injuries and their lack of tackling in games showed.

I don't think Florida will hire him, but if they did I think he could build the most dominating football team in the country.

If he couldn't do it at USC then I highly doubt he would do it at Florida...He makes too many bone headed choices.
