CLK just sent a Tweet about Copeland out. Do we have another secondary violation coming now?

He is not signed, just a 2010 commit.

we have nothing to worry about, this is perfectly within the rules so quit freaking out.

no it's not. he can't comment on any specific recruit at all before he has signed an LOI. that of course doesn't mean they don't leak info to the media.

Surely, if its all over the internet and will be in papers tomorrow, the coach can say it happened.

Kind of funny.....you are calling him Coleman vs. Copeland.....I thought this thread was going to be about a tweet involving BJ

If the NCAA has nothing better to do than to police Facebook and Twitter all day, they need a life. It probably isn't even really Coach Kiffin writing those posts anyway.

Personally, I hope I never hear any of our coaches say "I was so excited to hear...". That's about as lame as it gets. That phrase would be apology worthy in my book if it came out of one of our coach's mouth.

no, he cant comment on a players ability until the LOI is signed. it is ok to mention a player committing by name if they are verbally committed

This is going to be interesting and will set a precedent for the future. The rules state you can't mention a recruit by name by use in the media - print, radio, tv, ect.

Facebook and Twitter are not media, but still public domain. In my opinion this will be a violation in the future.

I like what Kiffin is doing though...push that envelope.

there is a reason why you don't see schools issue press releases every time they get a committ.

From govols article about Bryce Brown incident: NCAA rules prohibit a coach from commenting generally about student athete's ability before the prospect has signed a LOI

Kiffin is not only 10 steps ahead of Meyer in the media, he's officially ahead of the media in the 'nonmedia.'

Now I understand why he's using Tweeter and Facebook.

Are you VN FB guys 'writing on his wall'?
