Good with that.View attachment 632094WONDERFUL!
I’m pretty sure Jackson, TN is scorched into the infant mind of any unlucky enough to be born there. Not sure that does anything for a “deep connection” though.I thought the same but someone else correctly noted that she was just born in Jackson, TN but was raised in Canada.
Unless her prenatal and infant memories are really vivid, she probably does not feel deeply connected to the state of Tennessee.

It seems there is a portion of the fan base that has little faith in Danny White. Why that is baffles me.
He also hired Lance Leipold and Nate Oats at Buffalo when he was AD there. This is his second major hire. Folks that don't have concern seem to forget that the other three most successful coaches, Barnes, Vitello and Weakley were already here. He did not hire them.
And many were originally underwhelmed with CJH though he has turned out to be a good hire.
This hire is as big as the one he had to make for football, maybe even bigger considering the history with the Lady Vols.
I think you're right. Based on things that have been said vaguely. I think this is how it's went to far.Take it with a grain of salt, but here's what I've heard from solid sources. DW is keeping things VERY close to the chest, so none of this will be groundbreaking information.
Kara is not happening and never was. Jennie Baranczyk has at least been contacted as has Lindsay Gottlieb although I don't know that interest is there for Lindsay with the class she has coming in. Wes Moore has been contacted although I don't know that the interest is there because he is very close with the Harpers, also his age is a factor. Brenda Frese is in contention, but will her baggage proceed her. Jeff Walz is in contention, but he has some of the same baggage as Brenda. I've heard nothing on Becky Hammon. This leads me to believe that the interest isn't there or she isn't too keen on recruiting.
I know that a LOT of interest has been there, but most of the interest is from successful mid major coaches or coaches coming off hot seasons that don't coach for a Power 5 school.
I expect early next week will the absolute latest we hear something.
it might underwhelming when it is announced, but like Heupel could turn out really well. This is his second major hire. Folks that don't have concern seem to forget that the other three most successful coaches, Barnes, Vitello and Weakley were already here. He did not hire them.

Edited to add and this one is not where the house is burning down - Harper had decent success so the hire needs to be able to restore the Lady Vols to the Pat Summitt days.
I think you're right. Based on things that have been said vaguely. I think this is how it's went to far.
Dawn Staley - Made her say no
Lindsay Gottlieb - Made her say no
Now the search has really began.
Brenda Frese - Would be a floor raising hire but would anger the core.
Jeff Walz - See above
Now here is where I think we have a legit 3 candidates that'll hopefully satisfy the majority:
Jennie Baranczyk
Kim Stephens
Lisa Fortier

Guess it depends on if he sees it as a major rebuild. Let’s not kid ourselves that football after Dooley, Butch, and cornbread wasn’t basically scorched earth. If he sees it as a job that a good up and comer can turn around in a few years, then he might take that route. He didn’t make it sound that way throwing the words iconic to describe the Lady Vols program, but maybe deep down he sees it as a mess needing to be rebuilt from the ground up.it might underwhelming when it is announced, but like Heupel could turn out really well.
