Lol, the fact that the news is coming from Northam (UNC homer), who gets the FACTs wrong and seems to value social media hits over all else really screams fake news. Schools do the same thing for various reasons by the way. I have yet to see a quote that indicates Lawson actually said anything. More than likely, the two parties didn't interact at all and Northam is just stirring the pot. Lawson doesn't want the job, so why would she want an interview?Often in coaching searches, when someone finds out they are not getting an interview, they try to spin it publicly as if they turned it down. Kara Lawson can say whatever she wants, but she was never contacted by Tennessee. There are other “candidates” that were never contacted but will try to control the narrative that they were turning down a job they were never in consideration for raises their profile.
Watch THat video for yourself
Who should Lady Vols hire ? Here are 6 Swing options, plus a fall back plan
YouTube video Knoxville news sentinel
Jeff Breada Neill Ivy USC coach were home runs
John Adams even said Candace Parker might be a home run
They like Kim to
But on Kara they said she hasn't been past sweet sixteen same as Kellie.
Want to know if you it's true watch it for yourself
Had to tell about Candace Parker since you brought up how we know it's true.
Don't tell them every thing at once drag the story out.
Both John Adams and Blake Toppmeyer said Cora Hall knew more about the lady Vols.
For you baseball people Cora used grand slam talking about NEil Ivy
This is true. Some big donors have been miffed at the Harper’s’ lack of warmth toward them. They say the coaches don’t remember their names, etc. and they got tired of it and complained. This is an absolute fact.
I think the players do like Kellie enough, but they also have not been pleased with a lot of stuff. Feelings can be complex.
I had heard there was some dissension towards the end of the season from a decent source.
If so, that can also explain why an AD would feel he needed to move.
Most see she was at Tennessee one of the biggest national brands and got fired for mediocrity, it’s really not complicated. Most would gladly crawl on broken glass to slide in.I’m going to say there are probably a lot of coaches that look at Kellie’s record, challenges with injuries, lack of NIL and the fact that DW dumped her after a decent year and say that is a pretty short leash and not a lot of loyalty. Maybe a pass on that job.
The fact is that the reason that the LVBHC was not able to connect with the larger boosters had nothing to do with Kellie and everything to do with the LVBHC.
LSU finished ahead of Kellie's Lady Vols in the standings her FIRST season. That's what happens when your school is actually willing to devote money and resources to their women's basketball program...
Darth and Majors seem to tell the board back in 2023. Get the hire right, the rest takes care of itself. If a move is made after this year or next. I do believe Danny will move away from the old guard influence when hiring. Seems the old guard is also holding back the NIL by being a separate entity by choice with the BoostHer Club. If we are losing recruits, that’s where you look first to why if it’s not the coaches.
If memory serves me from the old recruiting forum coaching search during Operation Cornbread’s Replacement, I recall we almost bagged Franklin but he ultimately said no, then it wasn’t too soon afterwards that Heupel said yes. That tell me that DW had two in mind, Franklin or Heupel. So I’m not sure I agree with you’re “a lot said no”.Because a lot of coaches turned us down during that search. If he wanted Heupel first, he would have taken him first and not waited so long. He got told no ALOT. Heupel has worked out for us obviously.
That guy’s just axe grinding. I wouldn’t pay him much mind.If memory serves me from the old recruiting forum coaching search during Operation Cornbread’s Replacement, I recall we almost bagged Franklin but he ultimately said no, then it wasn’t too soon afterwards that Heupel said yes. I think Miles was asked to leave. The relative lack of portal activity among Tennessee's roster compared to some teams would tend to contradict these claims of widespread dissatisfaction. When players leave for more playing time opportunities elsewhere, that's completely understandable. Brooklyn Miles got to start at Kentucky; she's just entered the portal again with Brooks bringing in his players.
Of course, it is always easier to be happier when the team is 18-1 and playing post-game pranks on the coaches. Winning soothes a lot of hurt feelings.
Some of the "big names" being favored by many posters have seen a lot of roster upheaval over the years, including star players. Frese lost Reese to LSU as did Walz with Van Lith. And now Van Lith is in the portal again, presumably not returning to LSU. Did Mulkey run her off?
We never know what:s going on behind the scenes unless it boils over into social media gripes or public lawsuits. Otherwise, hearsay and one-sided accounts.
Probably bc DW meant what he said when he said no info would be leaked. Cora will give her speculation list and call it speculation, but she won't report rumor. She's a real journalist, something we're not use to.Has Cora Hall gotten any good information on the coaching search? I haven't seen anything. As the local beat reporter covering the women's program, she should have--but I don't think she's come up with anything. Her pieces listing various "candidates" were nothing--anybody could
do that--no real reporting required.
I think it has to do with not winning. And not still playing. I decided last night Rickea is as good as Paige, probably better. Should be the #2 pick unless someone just needs the size of Kamilla. I can't imagine Brink before Kamilla or RIckea.Rickea has been snubbed so often now that I'm beginning to fear she'll also be snubbed on Draft Day. I keep wondering what possible reasons people could keep dissing her like they are. Is there something we don't know? Has someone made a deal with the devil against her? What?
3-4 p.m. on weekends is considered prime sports time. That's why the best NFL game of the week is given the 4 p.m. slot.I don't understand why it's at 3pm and not prime time
.
I believe we are paying a salary, it's just very small compared to LSU and to So Car's 25KWe aren’t paying a salary and as long as we don’t, I think NIL will self-correct. I do not want our student athletes to become employees of the university. I think that would open a can of worms that no one would want.
I don’t have a problem with NIL - it seems to even the playing field and keeps Universities that have been willing to pay under the table from stacking up student athletes.
Two donor events don’t make you an expert. These are donors that have been around since the early Pat days. I’m not saying it IS the reason she got fired. I am sharing the personal experiences of several donors who have been donating huge amounts of money. The donors I know don’t lie. I am saying that their experience and that they talked to White about it over the course of several years could have been a factor of many in his decision to let her go. I doubt Harper was fired for one reason. This is absolutely not true...I have attended two donor events in the last year hosted by Coach Harper and she did a great job interacting with everyone. If you're trying to make this the justification for the lack of NIL funds, you're wrong.

Agree. The one thing you can say about Kellie's teams is her players love her. I know a handful of them personally and they have always had good things to say about Kellie, always.h
have a really hard time believing this. the players have been pretty vocal about their love for kellie, even after her firing.
True the firing was not about culture or player relationships. It was about recruiting and going in the wrong direction in year five. Her total record against ranked teams 12 and 37. Those are legitimate reasons to make a change no matter what type of person you are. She just wasn't moving the program forward to where expectations are expected. Five years was certainly a reasonable amount of time to expect better results. Will certainly be the same for the next coach maybe even shorter.Agree.
