Happy to see Fortier on Cora's updated list. It gives me hope as most on here know she's been my top choice.

But if your not getting those top tier 3-5 candidates mentioned, Fortier gotta be in that next tier, who is attainable.

The way I look at it is, you cant get those 3-4 (A+'s) but there are a few (B+/A-) that are gettable, which is where I rank Fortier, above the molly millers, Caldwells, Berube, etc.. who id have as C grades

Often in coaching searches, when someone finds out they are not getting an interview, they try to spin it publicly as if they turned it down. Kara Lawson can say whatever she wants, but she was never contacted by Tennessee. There are other “candidates” that were never contacted but will try to control the narrative that they were turning down a job they were never in consideration for raises their profile.

Lol, the fact that the news is coming from Northam (UNC homer), who gets the FACTs wrong and seems to value social media hits over all else really screams fake news. Schools do the same thing for various reasons by the way. I have yet to see a quote that indicates Lawson actually said anything. More than likely, the two parties didn't interact at all and Northam is just stirring the pot. Lawson doesn't want the job, so why would she want an interview?

I’m going to say there are probably a lot of coaches that look at Kellie’s record, challenges with injuries, lack of NIL and the fact that DW dumped her after a decent year and say that is a pretty short leash and not a lot of loyalty. Maybe a pass on that job.

Most see she was at Tennessee one of the biggest national brands and got fired for mediocrity, it’s really not complicated. Most would gladly crawl on broken glass to slide in.

LSU finished ahead of Kellie's Lady Vols in the standings her FIRST season. That's what happens when your school is actually willing to devote money and resources to their women's basketball program...

Seems the old guard is also holding back the NIL by being a separate entity by choice with the BoostHer Club. If we are losing recruits, that’s where you look first to why if it’s not the coaches.

Has Cora Hall gotten any good information on the coaching search? I haven't seen anything. As the local beat reporter covering the women's program, she should have--but I don't think she's come up with anything. Her pieces listing various "candidates" were nothing--anybody could
do that--no real reporting required.

Probably bc DW meant what he said when he said no info would be leaked. Cora will give her speculation list and call it speculation, but she won't report rumor. She's a real journalist, something we're not use to.

Rickea has been snubbed so often now that I'm beginning to fear she'll also be snubbed on Draft Day. I keep wondering what possible reasons people could keep dissing her like they are. Is there something we don't know? Has someone made a deal with the devil against her? What?

I think it has to do with not winning. And not still playing. I decided last night Rickea is as good as Paige, probably better. Should be the #2 pick unless someone just needs the size of Kamilla. I can't imagine Brink before Kamilla or RIckea.

We aren’t paying a salary and as long as we don’t, I think NIL will self-correct. I do not want our student athletes to become employees of the university. I think that would open a can of worms that no one would want.

I don’t have a problem with NIL - it seems to even the playing field and keeps Universities that have been willing to pay under the table from stacking up student athletes.

I believe we are paying a salary, it's just very small compared to LSU and to So Car's 25K

Two donor events don’t make you an expert. These are donors that have been around since the early Pat days. I’m not saying it IS the reason she got fired. I am sharing the personal experiences of several donors who have been donating huge amounts of money. The donors I know don’t lie. I am saying that their experience and that they talked to White about it over the course of several years could have been a factor of many in his decision to let her go. I doubt Harper was fired for one reason.

True the firing was not about culture or player relationships. It was about recruiting and going in the wrong direction in year five. Her total record against ranked teams 12 and 37. Those are legitimate reasons to make a change no matter what type of person you are. She just wasn't moving the program forward to where expectations are expected. Five years was certainly a reasonable amount of time to expect better results. Will certainly be the same for the next coach maybe even shorter.
