Kim Caldwell (Rookie Coach of the Year-WBCA) is named Head Coach of Iconic Lady Vols WBB

I would be ecstatic if it were Brenda Frese. I didn't feel that way a few days ago, but the more I've learned about her situation at Maryland the more I think the move to UT would be beneficial to both parties. She's a winnner. Outside the "family" tree but a woman - so that would be a 50/50 win for anyone left from the old school way of thinking. She was killed this year by NIL at Maryland. Folks forget she recruited and signed Angel Reese and then lost her to LSU due to no NIL funding with the Terps. She is one of a handful of existing coaches in the game who have won a National Championship. She's won nearly 80% of her games over a 24 year coaching career. She is only 54 years old. She would be a HR hire, imo. even if she wasn't on my initial list of "wants."

That’s what I’m saying. And Brenda will play the game for recruits. We have known that for a long time. I’d much rather have her on our team lol.

This is completely opposite of what you said last night. Did you already forget what you said?

Read. I said a candidate that moves on as a finalist.. you may comprehend finalist to mean the “one” but I know from professional experience and being qualified in this field in administration that a finalist(applicant) is one of multiple candidates in a job search. I spoke on the candidates resume and why she is qualified. You don’t have to agree with me. But she is qualified for any P5 job not just the opening at Tennessee. You’ve responded to me multiple times so I’ll let this be my one reply. You continue to keep on putting energy into building your fanatic persona here and on Twitter.

I will eat a cat turd out of my litter box live on facebook for you all to watch if TN hires Marshall's coach. Danny White does not fire a former Lady Vol who went to two sweet 16's to hire a coach who's been in D1 for one year. NOT. HAPPENING. It's counter intuitive to everything we know to be true in how he sees the program.
A dog turd would be a lot bigger and make better video viewing----just sayin'

Because they got duped by a Marshall beat reporter who reposted Richard West's fake account that has now been viewed over 200,000 times in the last 18 hours.
The reporter also said Kim interviewed in Knoxville and it’s well known that DW was conducting the interviews in Atlanta to keep anything from being leaked before he makes the announcement

I didn’t mean to say that and haven’t heard that. I’ve heard they are very happy and believe they got a great coach. I might never know if that was their number one or not. I’ve known since the beginning some of the definite “no” candidates, but still don’t know the hire.
So you went from making this person the highest paid women’s coach to I am not sure who has been hired.

Oh I've read what you've said all week. You've got enough hot air to fill a hot air balloon. You started the week with "What do you call a bases load GRAND SLAM Danny White hire. Buckle up Lady Vols are back" post, before you moved on to a "Wait till you see these numbers. It will blow your mind. Wow. Lady Vols are back" post, to a momentary derailment and "mid major coaches aren't bad and Kim Stephens is awesome" post last night, back to "It's all good. buckle up"today.

You flip faster than a light switch with each new "rumor" you read on twitter. You might fool some folks, but anyone following this thread all week knows you're full of bs.

This poster was recently banned under the name WinnerCircle. Almost certainly the same person.

There are only three viable, genuine big fish that I can think of--Hammon, Waltz, Freese. After that there are some good catches--coaches at major programs who've been successful but are a level below the above three--but could not be called "big fish." If it's Freese I'd be thrilled; she and Hammon are the two I've been hoping for. Freese is a big-time winner. We need a brass tacks coach--someone who is more demanding; the best coaches usually are. She might be something of a personality risk: I don't pretend to know her or her coaching style, but she's always struck me as tough-minded, for sure, somewhat old-school, super-competitive, and maybe someone who's not overally prepared to humor some of the today's kids with their "I gotta show my identity and build my brand" nonsense. Everybody comes with risks of one kind or another--often multiple. She's also at a stage of her career where a change of location would really serve to energize her. This is a program that desperately needs a serious kick in the backside--and she (along with Walz, who seems similar in personality) is a coach who could provide that. We'll see.

Walz and Frese won a natty together

Yeah I’m sick of the ppl claiming to have inside knowledge and doesn’t know anything

@Stoerner Fumbles has had some good and accurate nuggets related to Tennessee coaching searches in the past. They are the only person in this thread that I believe has any connection to someone who might know what's going on, but I think they got caught up in the fake news last night and tried to hedge their bets by jumping on the Kim Stephens thing (which tells me they don't know what's going on with this one). Danny White proving again, he knows how to run a coaching search.

I didn’t go from anything to anything else. I’m sharing what I hear. I realize doing so in dysfunction junction might cause consternation, but that’s ok. If you follow things I’ve posted in the past, you know the MO of where I hear things and how often they land.

DeerPark also generally has quality information if not as much as they used to.

Outside of that we are all screaming into the abyss.

I didn’t comment on Kim Stephens, did I?

I'd come very close to adding Gottlieb to the list, but she doesn't come close to the level of proven winner as the ones you listed. I think she'd be perceived as one of the best hires possible.
